Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the name of the "all-time winningest family in the history of Pig in a Poke", whom the Griswalds defeat to win the European vacation?

Answer: The Froegers

After Clark decided that the family would "be pigs", the gameshow host surprised them with their opponents, The Froegers, who were supposedly undefeated. However, after mistakenly answering a question correct about American Explorers, Ellen wins the game for the Griswalds.
2. What is the name of Audrey's boyfriend, whom she leaves behind in America when her family travels to Europe?

Answer: Jack

Audrey mentions Jack quite a few times during the movie. She obviously misses him terribly, and she calls him from London, spending hours on the phone with him. Her long-distance phone call causes their hotel bill to be very expensive.
3. Which famous landmark does Clark knock over with the car as they are leaving?

Answer: Stonehenge

As the family is leaving Stonehenge, Clark unintentionally backs the car into one of the large stones of the landmark. This causes a domino effect, and the whole thing collapses while the Griswalds drive away, completely oblivious to what just happened.
4. Audrey doesn't want to wear the beret that Clark buys for each member of the family while they are in Paris.

Answer: False

Rusty is the one who didn't want to wear the beret. He thinks it makes him look stupid, and he says that no girl would ever want to talk to him while he was wearing it.
5. Rusty gets drunk while in Paris, and ends up in a French nightclub.

Answer: True

This part is truly hilarious, as Clark and Ellen go to the same nightclub, and find Rusty sitting and getting drunk with a streetwalker. One of my favorite lines is when Clark goes over to confront Rusty, and Rusty says drunkenly "Oink oink, my good man."
6. What color is the car that the Griswalds drive in France and Germany?

Answer: Orange

The family gets a yellow car in England, an orange car in France (which they then drive to Germany), and a white car in Italy.
7. The Griswalds stay with their relatives in Germany.

Answer: False

Although they think they are staying with their relatives (Fritz and Helga), the Griswalds are actually staying with complete strangers. This part is hilarious, since the strangers are very friendly to the Griswalds, but don't have a clue who they are.
8. Clark gets along well with the German men who invite him up on the stage to dance with them.

Answer: False

While they are dancing on the stage, the German men start ganging up on Clark. Soon, a huge fight breaks out, and everyone is punching everyone else. The Griswald's head for their car, but the Germans follow them in a truck, chasing them all the way to the train station, where the Griswalds barely make a train to Rome.
9. The Griswald's take a plane to Italy.

Answer: False

The family took a train to Rome, where they then rent a car from a criminal, who was in the process of robbing the traveler's check place. The criminals took the man who ran the store out into the parking garage, and placed him in the trunk of a car, which ended up being the Griswald's rental car.

The family then goes shopping, and buys some new "stylish" clothes, completely unaware of the man in the trunk of their car.
10. Who gets kidnapped in Rome?

Answer: Ellen

After Ellen gets mad at Clark for not erasing the video of her dancing and singing in the bathroom, she leaves and goes back to the hotel. The criminal who rented the car to the Griswald's goes into the hotel to try and get the car keys from Ellen, so he can get the man out of the trunk of their rental car.

However, Ellen fights him off, and he ends up kidnapping her and leading Clark on a wild chase through Rome, before finally crashing into a fountain.
