Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "You never close your eyes anymore when I kiss your lips, and there's no tenderness like before in your finger tips, you're trying hard not to show it but baby, baby I know it_______________" What is the name of this Righteous Brothers song?

Answer: You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling

"You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" was recorded and released in 1964. The iconic song has had phenomenal success and has been covered by singers such as Dionne Warwick and pop duo Hall & Oates.

Many people recognize "Unchained Melody" as the song that was featured in the movie "Ghost". "Soul and Inspiration" was another great song by the duo and was released in 1966. "Ebb Tide" was a tune covered by many, but it was made popular by Bobby and Bill's 1965 version of it. The Righteous Brothers were not real brothers. Bobby Hatfield and Bill Medley were once members of group called The Paramours in the early sixties, but had their greatest success as a duo.
2. Which Daryl Hall and John Oates-penned song about a lover leaving was covered by two other artists before becoming extremely successful for Hall and Oates?

Answer: She's Gone

"She's Gone" was written by Daryl Hall and John Oates and featured on their second album, "Abandoned Luncheonette" in 1973. The very personal song was later covered by Lou Rawls in 1974 and the Tavares Brothers in 1976. It was re-released by Hall & Oates in 1976 and is very soulful indeed.

"Sara Smile" was another popular song by the duo and was also released in 1976. The bass-line famous groove on 1981's "I Can't Go for That" was very popular on the R & B genre due to heavy airplay on urban radio. "One on One" is a mid-tempo ballad, featured on the Hall & Oates 1983 album, "H2O". Daryl Hall and John Oates have amassed countless awards and have been called the greatest duo of all time. The boys are bad and I mean good!
3. "I came back to let you know, I gotta thing for you and I can't let go" is a lyric from which song by the ever so smooth Bobby Caldwell?

Answer: What You Won't Do For Love

"What You Won't Do for Love" is Bobby Caldwell's most known song and absolutely one of my favorites on the planet. The 1978 mid-tempo track has been sampled and covered by many artists over the years and for good reason. It's a gorgeous and unforgettable tune.

Interestingly, Bobby's appearance was hidden or camouflaged to try and get more airplay on urban radio, but his identity was eventually revealed with his first live performance. Not that it really mattered. The man can sing! "Can't Say Goodbye" was featured on Bobby's 1978 debut album as well. "Open Your Eyes" and "My Flame" are also Caldwell songs that have been sampled by other artists.
4. Michael McDonald sang all but which one of the following songs?

Answer: Never Gonna Give You Up

"Never Gonna Give You Up" was sung by Rick Astley, whose voice sounds very similar to McDonald's. Mr. McDonald, a former Doobie Brothers member, has one of the most soulful voices ever put to wax. He is truly legendary and has lent his vocals to many projects, including work with Steely Dan as a session vocalist and musician and singing with Patti Labelle on the duet "On My Own".

He also sang with Kenny Loggins on "This is It". Michael McDonald's years with the Doobie Brothers produced classics such as Grammy-nominated "Minute by Minute", and the Grammy-winning "What a Fool Believes". Boz Scaggs. YES! Love love love his voice. "Lowdown", with its catchy hook of "I wonder wonder wonder wonder who..." burned up disco dance floors and sizzled on radios in 1976. Scaggs won a Grammy for the song, which features Toto drummer Jeff Porcaro.

"Look What You've Done to Me" was a song from the 1980 movie "Urban Cowboy". "Heart of Mine" is from Scaggs' album named "Other Roads", released in 1988. "Jojo" is a song from his 1980 album, "Middle Man".
