More attempted a return to the movie business, after her third albbum failed to do well, but, being in her 30s, was too old to get back into the business. A return to a career in music was impossible due to a goiter on her vocal chords. She now works as a drug and alcohol counsellor at a rehab center in Florida.

Van McCoy and the Soul City Symphony recorded "The Hustle." McCoy started in a street corner singing group that he formed with his brother and some friends, called The Starlighters. He had a prolific career of songwriting but died very young, at 39, of a heart attack.
