Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Born in Liverpool, he wrote "Come and Get It" for Badfinger and is known as part of the electronic duo The Fireman.

Answer: Paul McCartney

There isn't an instrument he can't play - from guitar, bass, keys and drums to other instruments such as mandolin, recorder, and harmonica, he does it all. Cilla was a British singer whom Paul wrote for ("It's For You"), Pete was the original Beatles drummer and Gerry was the lead singer of the Pacemakers, a group who enjoyed a bit of success in the wake of the Beatles popularity
2. A former member of punk band Scream who had moved to Seattle for a while, he played all the instruments on his bands' first CD and has been known to play with John Paul Jones and Josh Homme here and there.

Answer: Dave Grohl

The awesomely talented Dave hid his talents as a singer and songwriter as a member of Nirvana, but surprised everyone with the Foo Fighters, playing all guitars (except on one track), bass parts and drums in addition to the singing and writing. Kris is of course, the bassist from Nirvana. Stone is one of the guitarists in Pearl Jam. Matt is known as the drummer for both Pearl Jam and Soundgarden.
3. He started off as a child actor and as a teenager, played with Flaming Youth before joining an upcoming progressive rock band. The 80s saw him enjoy massive success as a solo artist, and he recently put out a CD of Motown standards.

Answer: Phil Collins

A child actor who appeared in "A Hard Day's Night", Phil easily replaced Peter Gabriel when the latter left Genesis. Phil, equally comfortable at a piano as he is behind the drums, became known for his syrupy ballads in the 80s. In 2010 he put out a collection of Motown songs replicating the sound virtually note for note.
4. He joined the British group The Move before co-founding ELO in the early 1970's. He was also a founding member of The Travelling Wilburys.

Answer: Jeff Lynne

A multi-talented person who played almost all the instruments on his first solo record, Jeff joined The Move before they broke up. He and Roy Wood envisioned a band with a string section to go where the Beatles had left off- to recreate intricate string parts live. Roy left after the first album. Bev Bevan was the last drummer in The Move as well as the drummer for ELO.
5. This Philadelphia native was a member of Baby Grand with producer Rick Chertoff in the mid 70s before finding fame as part of another group. Outside his group, he was known for single-handedly writing "One Of Us" for Joan Osborne.

Answer: Stewart Copeland

It was with Curved Air, playing one of their last gigs in Newcastle that Stewart saw Sting play for the first time, this being the beginnings of The Police.
