Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who is credited with reciting the opening narration "In The Beginning"?

Answer: Allister Fiend

The narration was written by Nikki Sixx. Tom Werman was this album's producer. He produced the Crüe's next two albums also.
2. Which song is written about the band's original manager, Allan Coffman?

Answer: Bastard

Allan Coffman was the brother-in-law of Mick's friend Stick. Coffman had no experience in the music business at all but still decided to sign the band.
3. Which song is dedicated to the LAPD, in the liner notes?

Answer: Knock 'Em Dead Kid

The way the story goes, two bikers were hitting on Nikki and Vince's girlfriends outside the Rainbow one night and they got into a brawl. Without Nikki knowing, two undercover cops stepped in. Nikki whipped one across the face with his chain before he was arrested.

The cop and his partner drove Nikki into a dark alley, kicked him in the stomach repeatedly, and gave him a black eye. That where the lyric "Well in the heat of the night you went and blackened my eye" came from.
4. Which song from "Theatre of Pain" has its demo on this album?

Answer: Louder than Hell

The name on "Shout" is "Hotter the Hell". When the song was used for "Theatre" they changed the title to "Louder" because they thought it better described them.
5. The song "Helter Skelter" on this album is a cover of a Rolling Stones song?

Answer: False

It is actually a cover of a Beatles song. This was Mötley's second cover. Their first was "Tonight" by the Raspberries featured on "Too Fast For Love". They would eventually cover a Stone's song with "Street Fighting Man".
6. Towards the end of "I Will Survive" on the re-released disc, Nikki is heard chanting something backwards. What is he saying backward?

Answer: Jesus is Satan

If you have read "The Dirt" you might recall the part where Nikki recounts this day. He says they wound up the gong and layed on their backs and chanted "Jesus is Satan" backward. He says it sounded something like scrambled eggs and wine. Nikki says their engineer quit that day. In the liner notes it says that the album may contain backward recordings.
7. At what number on the US charts did "Shout at the Devil" peak?

Answer: 17

This was the band's first platinum album. It went on to sell over three million records.
8. Which song makes a reference to making a sex tape?

Answer: Ten Seconds to Love

The lyric is "Bring a girlfriend/Or maybe bring two/ I got the camera/Make a star out of you." This kind of ironic since a couple of years later Tommy and Vince both had their sex tapes leaked to the public. Tommy's received much more publicity.
9. Which song is the only one on the album to make a reference to tattoos?

Answer: Danger

The lyric is "Tattoed lies/ Distant eyes". I found this relevant this Tommy and Nikki both have full sleeves, with Mick and Vince not too far from this feat. All the members have full back pieces except for Mick. Along with these main pieces of ink the members also have other assorted tattoos on other parts of their bodies.
10. The black pentagram was the cover for all United States versions of this album.

Answer: False

On the vinyl release the pentagram was used. On the CD version a picture of the band was used with "Mötley Crüe" written in red above it.
