Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. 'Killing Floor' is the title of a song by which blues artist?

Answer: Howlin' Wolf

'Killing Floor' has lyrics very similar to that of 'I could of quit you' by Led Zeppelin. However, 'Killing Floor' was written before Led Zeppelin's song.

'Killing Floor' by Howlin' Wolf can be found on 'The Roots Of Led Zeppelin' CD!
2. What is Red Hot Chili Pepper's bassist, Flea's, real name?

Answer: Michael Peter Balzary

Michael Peter Balzary, of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, better known as Flea, was born in Melbourne, Australia. As well as bass playing he is also known for his trumpet playing. The occasional actor is the voice of Donny in 'The Wild Thornberries' and has appeared in 'Back to the future' and the remake of Hitchcock's 'Psycho'!
3. What is Bob Dylan's real name?

Answer: Robert Zimmerman

Bob Dylan's real name is Robert Zimmerman. I suppose it's a good thing he changed it slightly. 'Dylan' is much easier to say than 'Zimmerman'!
4. Who played bass for The Yardbirds whilst Jeff Beck was guitarist?

Answer: Jimmy Page

Jimmy Page played bass whilst Jeff Beck was guitarist, but both Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton were once the band's guitarist! Jimmy Page later formed Led Zeppelin, who originally toured by the name, 'The New Yardbirds'!
5. Which band did the song 'One Step Beyond'?

Answer: Madness

Ska band Madness also had well-known songs, such as: 'Baggy Trousers' & 'House of Fun'
6. Which band from Glasgow had a debut single called 'Henrietta'?

Answer: The Fratellis

The Fratellis consist of three members; Jon, Mince & Barry. Singles released from their debut album, and only album so far, include: 'Henrietta', 'Chelsea Dagger', 'Whistle for the Choir' & 'Creepin' up the Backstairs'!
7. Singer/Song writer/guitarist - Syd Barrett was born on 6th January, but which year?

Answer: 1946

Syd Barrett sadly passed away in July of 2006. He had a history of mental illness. Some think he suffered from Schizophrenia. Bipolar disorder was also a possibility!
8. 'There She Goes' by Liverpool band, The La's, was about what?

Answer: Heroin

Contrary to people believing it was a love song, 'There She Goes' was actually about Heroin.
9. What was the name of the only studio album The Sex Pistols ever released?

Answer: Never Mind The Bollocks

The controversial band only released one album called 'Never Mind the Bollocks'. Songs from the album include: 'Anarchy in the UK', 'God Save the queen' and 'Pretty Vacant'! Bassist Sid Vicious died, after being accused of the murder of his girlfriend Nancy... Taking this point into consideration - as well as the title of the album - it's safe to say they were quite the rebels. And not what you'd want your children to be listening to I suppose, but I can't help but love 'em!
10. Which bassist, often referred to as the greatest bassist of all time - even by himself, was beaten to death by bouncers whilst drunk?

Answer: Jaco Pastorius

Jaco Pastorius was the God of bass, making his death so tragic, even if he was very arrogant. Jaco Pastorius and Carlos Santana did a song together, entitled 'Aqua Marine'.
