Answer: David Gates

David Gates' first record was a local hit in Tulsa where he grew up. It was called "Jo-Baby", an original song written for his then sweetheart and later wife Jo-Rita whom he married in 1958. He continued his solo career until 1969 when he formed the group Bread.

Answer: America

Inspired by his favorite movie of all time "The Wizard of Oz", Dewey Bunnell wrote the song. Bunnell was a part of the group America. According to an interview with the late Dan Peek who was also a part of the group, Dewey begged them not to record the song.
3. Another big soft rock hit was "(That's) How Much I Feel". What group scored their first gold record with this song in 1978?

Answer: Ambrosia

Ambrosia's first recording experience began as a demo band for Herb Alpert's A&M Records. They released their debut album on 20th Century Fox records in 1975. "How Much I Feel" came out in 1978 and peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
