Yes, there are single reed mouthpieces for bassoons - but the bassoon IS a double reed instrument!

Answer: Left thumb

My bassoon has about 10 keys for the left thumb. It was hard to figure it out when I started playing!

It's a much larger bassoon, but folded over so it's not too hard to hold.
