Answer: The Vandellas

Later known as Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, they were Motown artists (on the Gordy label) with several 1960s hits including "(Love Is Like a) Heat Wave" and "Dancing in the Street".
2. Desmond Dekker

Answer: The Aces

Originally they were Desmond Dekker and the Four Aces until two left the band and they became Desmond Dekker and the Aces. The ska/reggae group released many songs in 1967 but none clicked until they did "Israelites" in 1968. It got to number nine on the "Billboard Hot 100" and number one on the "UK Singles Chart".
3. K.C.

Answer: The Sunshine Band

Being from Florida, forming a group called the Sunshine Band was a natural for Harry "K.C." Casey. Most popular in the Disco era, we heard "That's the Way (I Like It)", "(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty" and "Get Down Tonight" over and over.
4. Tommy James

Answer: The Shondells

If your baby did the "Hanky Panky" you probably know who Tommy James and the Shondells are. From Michigan, their 1960s hits also include "Crimson and Clover" and "Crystal Blue Persuasion".
5. Harold Melvin

Answer: The Blue Notes

A latter-day doo wop group from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, they were also a rhythm and blues and soul group. Their biggest hit was 1972's "If You Don't Know Me by Now".
6. Billy Vera

"At This Moment" was the biggest hit for Billy Vera & the Beaters. Originally released in 1981 it only reached number 79 on the "Billboard Hot 100". Released again in 1987 it went to number one in the U.S. and Canada.

Considered a surf rock group, they did as many car songs , like "G.T.O." and "Bucket T" as surf songs, "Beach Boy" and "California Bound".
8. Joey Dee

Answer: The Starliters

A New Jersey band who happened to get an appearance at a small New York City dance club, the Peppermint Lounge, at just the right time, Joey Dee and the Starliters parlayed a new dance craze into a million-selling song, "Peppermint Twist" and a movie about the group, "Hey, Let's Twist" (1961).
9. Spanky

Answer: Our Gang

Taking their name from the "Our Gang" movies of the 1930s, Elaine "Spanky" McFarlane's folk rock group was popular in the late 1960s with hits like "Sunday Will Never Be The Same" and "Lazy Day".
10. Freddie

Answer: The Dreamers

One of the British Invasion groups, Freddie Garrity and his group were as much a visual act as musicians. "I'm Telling You Now" and "If You Gotta Make a Fool of Somebody" were top-five hits for them.
