"Eleanor Rigby"(1966), "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds"(1967) and "I Am the Walrus"(1967) are all three songs by The Beatles. "Eleanor Rigby" was recorded for the "Revolver" album in 1966 which was the seventh album by the band. Despite being recorded in the same year, "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" was recorded for the "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" album and "I am the Walrus" for the album "Magical Mystery Tour". The two albums were released within six months of each other.

The Rolling Stones released "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" as a single in 1965 and it featured on their album "Out of Our Heads" in that same year. It took the top position on multiple charts, including the UK Singles, US Billboard Hot 100 and US Cash Box Top Singles. "Paint it Black" was recorded for the 1966 album "Aftermath"and it too managed number one positions on both the Billboard Hot 100 and UK Singles charts. "Sympathy For the Devil" is from their 1968 album "Beggars Banquet". It features at thirty-second position on "Rolling Stone" magazine's "500 Greatest Songs of All Time" list.

Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel met in school and recorded together as a duo in the 1950s under the name of "Tom and Jerry". They broke up soon afterwards, but re-united several years later and performed as "Kane & Garr". They became simply just Simon & Garfunkel in 1964 and recorded their debut album "Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M." on which "The Sound of Silence" first appeared. "I Am a Rock" was originally released as a solo effort by Paul Simon for his 1965 album "The Paul Simon Playbook", but was re-recorded by Simon & Garfunkel in that same year for their "Sounds of Silence" album. "Bridge Over Troubled Water" was released in 1970 for the album of the same name.

All three songs "Bold as Love", "Purple Haze" and "All Along the Watchtower" were recorded in 1967, although "All Along the Watchtower" was recorded in that year by Bob Dylan who wrote the song. "Bold as Love" was recorded for the album "Axis: Bold as Love", which was the band's second album. "Purple Haze" was released as a single and was included on the 1967 "Are You Experienced" album. This is a Grammy Hall of Fame song, inducted in 2000. "All Along the Watchtower" was originally recorded for Bob Dylan's album "John Wesley Harding" and covered by Jimi Hendrix in 1968 for the album "Electric Ladyland".

Although the cover version by Santana is perhaps better known, "Black Magic Woman" was written by Fleetwood Mac founder Peter Green and originally recorded by the band in 1968. "Gold Dust Woman" is from Fleetwood Mac's best selling album "Rumours" recorded in 1976 and features a unique instrument in the form of an electric harpsichord. "Little Lies" is the most recent song of the three, recorded for the 1987 album "Tango in the Night". The single managed a number one spot on the US Billboard Adult Contemporary chart.

"Crocodile Rock" was recorded by Elton John in 1972 for his album "Don't Shoot Me I'm Only the Piano Player". Despite Elton John's songwriting partner Bernie Taupin claiming it was a "funny song in that he didn't mind creating it, but it wouldn't be something he'd listen to", it managed a number one spot on the US Billboard Hot 100 and US Cash Box Top 100 charts. It also managed to top the Swiss, New Zealand and Canadian charts. "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" was recorded in 1973 for the album of the same name. Both it and "Crocodile Rock" were recorded in France at 18th century chateau, the Château d'Hérouville. "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" is a duet John did with Kiki Dee in 1976. The song reached top position on US and UK charts, as well as nine other charts internationally, including Zimbabwe.

Brothers Robin, Maurice and Barry formed the Bee Gees in the 1950s. They recorded twenty-two albums from 1965 to 2001. They won eight Grammy Awards, a Brit Award, a World Music Award and and five American Music Awards. They had multiple number one hits throughout the decades and "You Win Again" (1987) from the album "E.S.P.", "How Deep Is Your Love" (1977) featured on the "Saturday Night Fever: The Original Movie Sound Track" and "Tragedy" (1979) from the album "Spirits Have Flown" have all three been in top position on numerous charts all over the world.

Welcome to (the Jungle), (Knocking on) Heaven's Door, Sweet Child (o' Mine).

Both "Welcome to the Jungle" and "Sweet Child o' Mine" were recorded by Guns N' Roses for their 1987 debut album "Appetite For Destruction". While "Sweet Child 'o Mine" made it to number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, "Welcome to the Jungle" only managed a seventh place. "Knocking on Heaven's Door" was written and recorded originally by Bob Dylan in 1973. Guns N' Roses covered it for the soundtrack of the 1990 Tom Cruise film "Days of Thunder" and was included in the same year on the band's fourth studio album "Use Your Illusion II".

ABBA recorded "Mamma Mia" for their eponymous album in 1975. The song proved to be the band's second number one UK single, but did not chart in Sweden, their home country. The A-Teens, another Swedish band, did a cover version in 1999, which did in fact chart in Sweden, reaching first place. "Thank You For The Music" was originally recorded for the 1977 album "ABBA: The Album" and was later included on the 1983 album "Thank You For The Music". "Money, Money, Money" was recorded for 1976 album "Arrival" which also provided the band with multiple number one positions on various world charts.

Ramble On, Over the Hills (and Far Away), (The Battle) of Evermore.

"Ramble On" was recorded in 1969 for the album "Led Zeppelin II". It features on "Rolling Stone" magazine's "500 Greatest Songs of All Time" list. Both this song and "The Battle of Evermore" (1971) from the album "Led Zeppelin IV" feature references to the novel "Lord of the Rings" written by J.R.R.Tolkien. Gollum, Mordor, ring wraiths and the dark Lord are all mentioned. "The Battle of Evermore" also holds the distinction of being the only Led Zeppelin song to ever feature a guest vocalist. "Over the Hills and Far Away" was recorded in 1973 for the album "Houses of the Holy".
