The name of the duo was Soft Cell. Their biggest success was "Tainted Love", in 1981, and they also had other hits like "Say Hello, Wave Goodbye", "Torch" and "What!".
Marc and the Mambas was a side project while the duo was still active.
His first solo album "Vermin in Ermine" was released in 1984.
