Answer: Emanuel Leutze

The other three listed were also artists. This painting shows Christmas night, 1776, when Washington crossed the Delaware River to make a surprise attack on Trenton. Washington took most of the Hessians on guard that night prisoner. Leutze finished the painting in 1850.

When asked by President Lincoln to command the Union army, Lee refused to go against his native state of Virginia.

Webster's dictionary simplified the British spelling of many words such as colour to color, waggon to wagon. The dictionary introduced dividing words into phonetic syllables.

Madison was present during all the debates at the Constitutional Convention. His notes went unpublished for more than 50 years, and they are now the main source of information about the birth of the Constitution.
