Wild celery has uses both as a vegetable and as a medicinal plant. It can grow up to 2.5 meters long. In addition to Greenland, wild celery can also be found in large parts of Europe. Human cultivation of the plant can be traced back over 1000 years.

In addition to Greenland, snowy wood-rush can also be found in Arctic parts of North America and Europe. The height of the herb generally does not exceed 10 inches at maturity in the Arctic. The plant was first described in the early nineteenth century.

Hairy kidney-wort is also known as the starry saxifrage. The flower of the plant has white petals with yellow or red markings. The hairy kidney-wort can also be found in Canada and the British Isles in addition to Greenland. The plant tends to grow in damp regions.
