Although the above synopsis might make it sound a little like 'Friends', its British humour and realism made it different. However a common feature of both 'Friends' and 'Cold Feet' is Helen Baxendale; She played Ross's second wife, Emily, in the U.S. show, and Rachel, one of the six main characters in 'Cold Feet'.

'Dawson's Creek' launched the careers of its young cast. Katie Holmes (Joey) has since starred in 'Go' and 'The Wonder Boys'. Joshua Jackson (Pacey) has starred in 'Cruel Intentions', 'Ocean's Eleven' and 'Gossip'. James Van Der Beek starred in 'The Rules of Attraction'.

The 'Hulk' is actually scientist Bruce/David Banner. Whilst researching a way to tap into the inner strength he believed all humans possess, he accidentally gets exposed to some kind of radiation and so, whenever he finds himself angry or upset, he turns into a seven-foot green monster known as 'The Incredible Hulk'.

Larry Hagman is probably better known for his role of J.R. in 'Dallas' but he starred in 'I Dream of Jeannie' from 1965. There were 139 episodes of the original show made, 30 were in black and white, 109 in colour. Jeannie was a genie who lived in a bottle owned by Major Nelson; she never failed to get him into trouble but usually helped him out again in the end.

Michael Knight, played by David Hasselhoff, was a policeman injured in the line of duty. He is nursed back to health by a mysterious millionaire, given a new identity and the job of fighting crime. He is also given an artificially intelligent car named K.I.T.T.

John Logie Baird (1888-1946) was a native Scot. His mechanical television was first revealed to the public in 1926 (although it was swiftly replaced by the electronic model which is more similar to what we use today). Baird was the first man to make a trans-Atlantic television transmission.

'E.R.' is a hospital drama set in Chicago. This was the show that really made George Clooney a star, he left in series 5 to pursue his movie career.

'The O.C.', a drama set in an idyllic neighbourhood in California, tells the story of the Cohen family, their friends, and Ryan a teenager from 'the wrong side of the tracks' who they take in to their home. Rachel Bilson, who plays Summer, also had a small role in the seventh season of 'Buffy'. She features in a dream Xander has about the potential slayers seducing him.

In the U.K this show launched the sucessful careers of Will Young (winner), Gareth Gates and Darius Danesh (runners-up) in the first series and Michelle McManus (winner), Mark Rhodes and Sam Nixon (runners-up) from the second.

'Quantum Leap' was a late eighties, early nineties show about a scientist who believed he could travel through time. He was right; unfortunately after leaping into the past (someone else's past in fact) he was unable to make the leap back home. The series charted his adventures as he leapt from person to person through the years, each time putting something right that had gone wrong in each life and every time hoping that he'd get back into his own body and time.

The programme is 'Roseanne' starring Roseanne Barr. It ran for nine seasons, from 1988 to 1997 and charted the trials and tribulations of the Conner family.

The show was first aired in the US in 1998 based upon the book by Candice Bushnell. Trey, played by Kyle Maclachlan was married to Charlotte (Kristin Davies); Richard was Samantha's (Kim Cattral) boyfriend; Aiden was played by the lovely John Corbett and dated Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Steve went out with Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and was the father of their son.
