Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Finish the line:
"Way, way back in the 1980s
Secret government employees
Dug up famous guys and ladies
And made _______."

Answer: amusing genetic copies

LOL! That line cracks me up! I can just picture the panel of shadowy figures dishing out dinero specifically to make "amusing" clones!
2. Which character is diagnosed with both attention deficit disorder and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, its hyperactive cousin?

Answer: Gandhi

If you haven't seen this episode yet, you HAVE to! Everyone at Clone High thinks it's contagious and shuns him... even his best friend! Special guest star is Canada's Tom Green.
3. How does Gandhi like his martinis?

Answer: Dry

If you've seen the episode, then you know why I asked this question. ;)
4. What did Abe volunteer to organize, hoping to keep more riots from happening?

Answer: Film festival

Abe took the opportunity to make a film that divulged the inner workings of his soul. It was something about an alien giraffe winning a football game. ???
5. What did the number four lie about?

Answer: Being the number five

The poll from the girls' bathroom indicated that Abe was ahead of JFK for the student body presidential elections. To allay Abe's doubts, Gandhi says that numbers don't lie... then a brilliantly anthropomorphized number four runs across the screen shouting, "I'm number five!"
6. Why can't Joan play on the basketball team?

Answer: Because she's a girl and/or an animal

Principal Scudworth's rules say that girls and animals are not allowed to play on the school's basketball team. But Joan is the best player in the school, so she disguises herself as John Dark (Jean D'Arc? The spelling is never given) and becomes the star player.
7. The school that Clone High plays against in the basketball league is called GESH. What does GESH stand for?

Answer: Genetically Engineered Superhuman High

Not very encouraging for the Clone High players.

After a horrible prank by the GESH goons, Gandhi hatches a plan to steal the GESH mascot, Geshie. After accidentally almost killing it, Gandhi and Geshie become close friends. It's an amusing sub-plot for the episode. :)
8. Who eventually wins the election for student body president?

Answer: None of these

It had seemed that Abe had won when a cute dog came on the stage and became the winner, according to Mr. Butlertron's applause metre. You can still see the dog in later episodes wearing a tag that says "Prez".
9. "Clone High" bears a very strong resemblance to the plot of the popular "Archie" comics. Which clone is like Archie?

Answer: Abraham Lincoln

John F. Kennedy represents Reggie and Gandhi would be Jughead. Thomas Edison appears in the show, but he doesn't have an apparent link to the "Archie" comics (yet!).
10. Which "Archie" character is Joan of Arc?

Answer: Betty

And just as Betty was my favourite "Archie" character, Joan is my favourite "Clone High" character. Although as an "angst-ridden goth girl" Joan doesn't match up 100% with Betty, she still has Betty's noble spirit and (as far as she knows) unrequited love for Abe/Archie.
11. In "Film Fest: Tears of a Clone", who was manning the projector?

Answer: Thomas Edison

Eadweard Muybridge would have been a more appropriate reference as the inventor of the moving picture, but Thomas Edison is more well-known, I suppose.

Did you know? Muybridge invented the moving picture (which he called the zoöpraxiscope) as part of a scientific experiment to see if all four of a horse's legs were ever off the ground at the same time when it galloped.
12. What is Principal Scudworth's first name?

Answer: Cinnamon

LOL! Somehow the name just doesn't seem to fit either a principal or an evil genetic engineer.
13. Principal Scudworth has a secret plan to kidnap all of the Clone High students. What does he want to make with them?

Answer: An amusement park

He intends to call it "Cloney Island".
14. Who was the one person at Clone High that understood Joan's film festival video?

Answer: Sigmund Freud

He teased her about loving Abe, so she hit him with a chair. She really clunked him a good one, too.
15. Who is Abe in love with?

Answer: Joan of Arc

This is revealed in the episode "Changes" where Abe discovers on prom night that he doesn't want to be with Cleo because he's in love with Joan. In the earlier episodes, Abe is infatuated with Cleopatra.
16. How does Principal Scudworth's sidekick, Mr. Butlertron, refer to everybody?

Answer: Wesley

Mr. Butlertron is a robotic butler/companion/vice principal/dehumidifier that Scudworth built.

"He calls everybody Wesley... don't know why." - Scudworth.
17. What's the name of Gandhi's second rap song?

Answer: It's a G Old Flag

When his rap demo gets played live on MTV on Spring Break on the sunny beaches of Canada Gandhi becomes an overnight success. However, his creative "genius" can't keep up and his next song is a flop.
18. In "Raisin the Stakes: A Rock Opera in Three Acts" which of these animals is not "one half" of Gandhi's guide through his subconscious?

Answer: Dragon

She called herself a "honkey-corn". Half hummingbird, half donkey and half unicorn.

Gandhi: "A donkey and a hummingbird doing it? *Snicker* I hope your mom wasn't the hummingbird!"
19. In the episode "Makeover, Makeover, Makeover: The Makeover Episode", what do Joan and Cleo do after they go shopping for clothes?

Answer: They rob a bank.

They buy some guns and rob a bank, then they go to a spa to get manicures and pedicures. This is such a weird show...
20. In the episode "Raisin the Stakes: A Rock Opera in Three Acts" what is the secret message that flashes when JFK is shown sitting in a wheelchair?

Answer: I buried Ponce

This is a tribute to the Beatles' "Strawberry Fields Forever". In the last part of the song you can hear John Lennon saying what sounds like "I buried Paul" (although what he's really saying is "cranberry sauce").

What's really interesting is that in the next episode, "Litter Kills: Literally", JFK's best friend, Ponce de Leon, is killed in an unfortunate littering accident.
