Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. An easy start! The Klingons are from this planet.

Answer: Qo'nos

Qo'nos -pronounced 'Chronos' - is usually referred to as the Homeworld. Praxis was an energy-production moon of Qo'nos that exploded at the beginning of 'Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country.' Kling comes from TNG episode 'Heart of Glory' where one of the renegade Klingons says 'those traitors of Kling.' Kling was supposed to be the given name of the Klingon Homeworld; however, the writers realized it sounded pretty silly. Kling is now regarded as a city or district on Qo'nos. If you chose Hoth, you're in the wrong universe, buddy!
2. This historical figure is given god-like reverence in Klingon culture.

Answer: Kahless

All are important figures in Klingon culture. But, Kahless is the most important. A clone of this great warrior was created by Klingon monks and later placed on the throne as Emperor.
3. What is the title given to the political leader of the Klingon Empire?

Answer: Chancellor

Before the clone of Kahless was created, there hadn't been a true Emperor in the Klingon Empire for centuries. 'Thought Admiral' is from several books, which are non-canon!
4. She was the only woman to be named Chancellor of the Klingon Empire.

Answer: Azetbur

Women are not allowed to sit on the Council. Because of her knowledge of Gorkon's (her father) peace initiative, Azetbur was named Chancellor after his death. While Lursa and B'Etor held considerable power, they did not have a seat on the council. I loved those dresses they wore; showed plenty of Klingon cleavage.
5. This type of ship featured two distinct classes: K'Vort and B'Rel.

Answer: Bird of Prey

The Bird of Prey was a very versatile ship, capable of planetary, instellar and warp travel. The K'Vort-class was the larger of the two classes, with a crew of about 36. The B'Rel-class was the smaller of the two, with a crew of 12. The Klingons had been using the design for over a century.
6. This Klingon conspired with Romulans which led to the massacre at Khitomer.

Answer: Ja'Rod

Ja'Rod was the father of Duras (and the incredibly sexy but frightening Lursa and B'Etor). Mogh was officially saddled with the crime. J'Dan was a traitor of a different stripe. He was exposed in the TNG episode 'The Drumhead.'
7. Besides Worf, this was the only known survivor of the massacre at Khitomer.

Answer: Kahlest

Kahlest was Worf's nanny and knew that his father would never betray the Empire. Worf did discover a prison camp full of Khitomer survivors in the two-parter 'Birthright.' But, when Worf left with some of the camps younger Klingons, they swore on their honor to keep the camp's existence a secret. So, officially only Worf and Kahlest survived Khitomer.
8. This Klingon agent was working undercover on Federation Station K-7.

Answer: Darvin

Darvin was the human name he used, his Klingon name was never given. He was featured in the TOS episode 'Trouble with Tribbles' and the DS9 episode 'Trials and Tribble-ations.' He was stuck in human form for over a century after being exposed by Kirk.
9. The legendary Klingon warrior Kor was given this title late in his life.

Answer: Dahar Master

'Bat'leth Master' and 'Grand Klingon' are joke titles. 'Thought Admiral' comes from some of the early books from Bantam; since the books are not canon, neither is that answer. There was never any clarification of what constituted 'Dahar Master.'
10. This notorious Klingon criminal killed the firstborn children of Kor, Koloth and Kang.

Answer: Albino

Jadzia Dax helped the legendary warriors take revenge on the Albino because of a blood oath taken by Curzon, her symbiote's previous host.
11. Which legendary Klingon warrior named his son after Dax?

Answer: Kang

Actually, it was Curzon who got the honor as the godfather of Kang's son. As Dax's newest host, Jadzia upheld the blood oath of concerning Dax Jr (?).
12. This woman's strict Klingon beliefs ruined her marriage and ostracized her from her daughter, B'Elanna.

Answer: Miral

Featured in 'Barge of the Dead,' B'Elanna had visions of her mother, Miral, dying dishonorably. It was never revealed if her mother really died. B'Elanna and Tom named their firstborn child after her.
13. Worf's human adopted mother learned to make this Klingon dish for him.

Answer: Rokeg Blood Pie

Apparently, her Rokeg Blood Pie is one of Worf's favorite dishes.
14. What high-ranking Klingon did Odo mistakenly believe was a shape-shifter?

Answer: Gowron

The idea was put there by Odo's fellow shape shifters when they kicked him out for killing one of his own. Of course, it was later proven to be a ruse.
15. The shape shifter had actually taken the form of which prominent Klingon?

Answer: Martok

Martok was held at a Dominion prison camp getting his Klingon butt kicked by Jem'Hadar.
16. The mythical creature Fek'lhr is the guardian of this place, where the dishonored go when they died.

Answer: Gre'Thor

The con artist claiming to be Ardra of Ventax II claimed to be several mythical figures in the episode 'Devil's Due.' Sto-Vo-Kor is the Klingon version of Valhalla, where the honorable party for eternity. Sha-Ka-Ree comes from 'Star Trek V: The Final Frontier,' as does Nimbus.
17. Worf seems to have a thing for half-breed Klingons. What was the name of the half-breed Klingon woman he fell for on a prison planet in the Carraya sector?

Answer: Ba'el

M'Tel is a fake name. In addition to being Alexander's mother, the late K'Ehleyr was Worf's mate until she was killed by Duras. Ba'el was half-Klingon, half-Romulan. Gi'ral was Ba'el's Klingon mother. Worf obviously thought she was cute, but those pointy ears!
18. This Klingon commanded the sleeper ship IKS T'Ong, whose crew awakened in 2365.

Answer: K'Temok

From the TNG episode 'The Emissary.' Don't confuse this with the DS9 premiere 'Emissary' or the Emissary himself, a man called Ha...uh, Starfleet captain called Sisko. The other choices are Klingons from the 'Star Trek' universe.
19. This arctic Klingon-held planetoid doubled as a mining colony and a prison.

Answer: Rura Penthe

Hello! 'Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country.' Where Kirk kicked an alien in the...knee (at least that's what he originally thought). The other choices are Klingon planets featured in other episodes or movies.
20. Ok...time for a toughie. What was the name given to Kurn after his memory was wiped by his brother, Worf?

Answer: Rodek

Kurn...*oops*, I mean Rodek, had a rough go of things when Worf was discommendated the second time. He lost his seat on the council, became a destitute drunk and turned to his older brother for help. He wanted Worf to kill him (common remedy for dealing with pain in Klingon society, apparently), but Sisko said no.

He failed as a deputy for Odo. So, Worf had his memory wiped and replaced as the fictional son of a family friend. What are brothers for, eh?
