Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Jounouchi didn't show up for Shizuka's operation because he lost a duel and in turn lost his Red Eyes Black Dragon. Which card did his opponent use to defeat him?

Answer: Sealed Exodia

Jounouchi was ashamed of losing, and couldn't face Shizuka. Ironically, he wouldn't have even made it into the tournament if he hadn't have had the Red Eyes in his deck, because his Duelist Level was too low to enter the tournament. But when the person signing people up for the tournament noticed Jounouchi's Red Eyes, he raised his level so he could compete.

The God of Ra, or The Winged Divine Dragon of Ra, was not used by this person.
2. Who did not sign up for the Battle City tournament?

Answer: Mei

Mei and Kyuu did not participate in the tournament partially because they were the Player Killers in Pegasus J. Crawford's tournament. They were the ones that fought Jounouchi and Yugi with the Gate Guardian.
3. True or False: Keith Howard and Ghost Kotsuzuka entered the Battle City Tournament to get revenge on Jounouchi Katsuya.

Answer: False

"Bandit" Keith Howard didn't enter the Battle City Tournament at all. Ghost Kotsuzuka entered simply to win. He was defeated by Yami Bakura in the middle of a graveyard.
4. Insector Haga is up to his old tricks again... which card was slipped into Jounouchi's deck during the Battle City Tournament and then used against him?

Answer: Parasite

Unleash Parasite is what Haga used to get the Parasite card out of Jounouchi's deck. The Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth is the final evolution of the Petit Moth, and Mind Leech is a card that kept Haga's life points up.
5. Which of these cards did Seto Kaiba NOT have in his deck for the Battle City Tournament?

Answer: Devil Franken

Seto Kaiba's deck, the "Virus Combo Deck", contains 40 cards and 3 Fusions, separated into 18 Monsters, 16 Magic, and 6 Trap cards. His Monsters are: The God of Obelisk, Blue Eyes White Dragon (x3), Blood Vors (x3), Lord of Dragons, X Head Cannon (x2), Y Dragon Head (x2), Z Metal Caterpillar (x2), Black Forest Witch, Critter (x2), and Saint Magician.

His Magic cards are: Black Hole, Thunder Bolt, Jar of Greed, Raise Dead, Change of Heart, Sealing Swords of Light, Harpy's Feather Sweep, Early Burial, Dragon Calling Horn, Fusion (x2), Cross Soul, Angel's Gift (x2), Black Core, and Tempest.

His Traps are: Attack Nullification, Deck Destruction Virus of Death, Anti-Magic Viral Cannon, Magic Jammer, Destruction Ring, and Last Battle. His Fusions are: Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon, XY Dragon Cannon, and XYZ Dragon Cannon.
6. Though the dubbed version edited it out, guns have actually been used several times and have played key roles in the character's next actions. Which of these people has never had a gun pointed at them at the Duelist Kingdom?

Answer: Mai Kujaku

Pegasus' cronies often packed handguns. Seto was the first to find this out, when two cronies burst into his offices brandishing pistols. Though this did not happen at Duelist Kingdom, Seto again met the barrel of a gun while searching the dungeons for Mokuba. Honda and Bakura met three armed guards while rescuing the soulless Mokuba, and Pegasus had a gun aimed at him by "Bandit" Keith when he lost to Jounouchi.
7. One of the main rules with the God Cards is that you NEVER EVER make a copy of that card. What is the japanese, nontranslated name of the God Card Malik made a copy of?

Answer: Ra No Yoku Shin Ryu

Literally translated: The Winged Divine Dragon of Ra. If one should use a copy of a God Card during a duel, bad things can happen. This was demonstrated during the battle that Rishid had with Jounouchi. Rishid had a copy of Ra in his deck (inserted into his deck by Malik), and used it.

Unfortunately, Ra didn't like this too much, and exhibited its wrath on the players of that duel. The fake God card rose into the sky and showered the area with bolts of energy. Jounouchi was struck, but survived. Rishid was struck, and was left in bad shape.
8. In order to control Ra, what dialect must you be able to speak?

Answer: Hieratic

Hieratic was an ancient Egyptian cursive writing, used from the 1st dynasty (c. 2925-c. 2775 BC) until about 200 BC. Derived from the earlier, pictorial hieroglyphic writing used in carved or painted inscriptions, hieratic script was generally written in ink with a reed pen on papyrus; its cursive form was more suited to such a medium than were the formal hieroglyphs.

In order to control Ra, you must be able to read and speak Hieratic. Demotic was derived from hieratic and replaced the text in Upper Egypt after the unification of Upper and Lower Egypt by Psamtik I. Coptic came later and was written using the Greek alphabet.
9. What is the Attack power of The Saint Dragon of Osiris as stated on the card?

Answer: X000

Osiris' attack and defense strengths are each equal to 1000 times the number of cards in its controller's hand. In the anime, Malik held ten cards in his hand and Osiris' attack and defense was 10,000 each... yes, ten THOUSAND.
10. What is Malik's relation to the person who gave Seto The Immense Divine Soldier of Obelisk?

Answer: Brother

The Immense Divine Soldier of Obelisk was given to Seto Kaiba by Isis Ishtar. Malik Ishtar is Isis' younger brother.
