Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Kremkroc Industries Inc. is highest stage of the game on the world map.

Answer: False

The fifth of seven different stages in "Donkey Kong Country", Kremkroc Industries Inc. is actually the second-highest on the map after Gorilla Glacier, the snow-capped stage preceding this one. Filled with smog, factories, and disgusting terrain, most of Kremkroc Industries Inc. is spent indoors or underground, mainly because of intense pollution.

The Kongs criss-cross through a myriad of environments, all scummy, to get to the end.
2. Which animal companion appears in Oil Drum Alley?

Answer: Rambi

The first stage of Kremkroc Industries Inc. is the first of three in a factory setting, though this one can be mildly frustrating due to the flaming 'OIL' drums scattered around the level. Although the first half of the level involves navigating the metal platforms of the area, the latter half features drums that flicker on and off, topping themselves with fire and putting themselves out at a regular rate.

When the Kongs are forced to jump on them and nothing else, it becomes a game of timing. Luckily, Rambi can be found under one of said drums provided the Kongs find a way underneath.
3. Which of these enemy types is most prominent in Trick Track Trek?

Answer: Flying

While the name of the stage may lend itself nicely to a mine cart level, it's not to be-- the stage takes place on a moving platform supported by thin metal wiring, and the Kongs simply have to stay on board while avoiding flying (or falling) enemies.

The stage is primarily populated by Neckies, but Zingers appear late on as well. In addition, enemies of all sorts will fall from higher platforms, seemingly performing kamikaze maneuvers in an attempt to trip you up. They're sneaky indeed. Almost every common enemy in the game appears in this stage.
4. What is something that can't be done in Elevator Antics?

Answer: Control the elevators

While Elevator Antics seems like a regular cave level on the surface, it's naive to think that a level so deep into the game wouldn't have a trick or two up its sleeve. The first half of the level involves narrow corridors, snakes, and Zingers, while the last half involves moving elevator platforms, rising and lowering between narrow cliffs and being blocked by more of the same enemies (and large ground enemies like Klumps). I won't even get into the frustration of being unable to crawl faster under tight passages to avoid regenerating snakes.
5. Which Kong does not appear in Kremkroc Industries Inc.?

Answer: Wrinkly Kong

Wrinkly doesn't appear in the game at all as she debuts at the Kong Kollege in "Donkey Kong Country 2". Instead you'll find all three of the usual suspects hanging around Kremkroc Industries Inc., the first being Candy Kong after completing Elevator Antics, the third level (a welcome relief after the five straight levels with no saves in Gorilla Glacier). Cranky and Funky both appear after the fourth level, Poison Pond, and the fifth level, Mine Cart Madness, (which are found on the second map of the area) respectively.
6. DK and Diddy unable to swim in the water in Poison Pond.

Answer: False

They can swim in it just fine. Despite the name, Poison Pond, the underwater level in Kremkroc Industries Inc., is not as bad as it seems. Sure, the water is a bit murkier (and...well...greener) but it's completely swimmable. In fact, the stage can be done at your leisure, which is a good thing since there are so many motorized obstacles with spikes spinning in the water.

Although the level features a number of typical water-based enemies, some faster than others, the real trick is navigating the speedy spinning wheels. Enguarde, as usual, can be found in this type of level-- twice in this case.
7. In Mine Cart Madness, how many carts do the Kongs need to ride?

Answer: More than ten

While Mine Cart Carnage, the first mine cart level of the game (way back in the Monkey Mines) forced DK and Diddy to stay in one cart for the entirety of the level, jumping in it from track to broken track, Mine Cart Madness, the fifth level of Kremkroc Industries Inc., did not bind them into the runaway vehicle.

This time, when faced with enemies or gaps between the tracks, the monkeys needed to jump into waiting carts, always perched at the start of the next track, wherever that may be. This is the second of only two mine cart levels in the game.
8. Which of these can still be seen when the lights go out in Blackout Basement?

Answer: Bananas

Blackout Basement can be a bit frustrating for those who have little patience. In this factory stage, the last one in Kremkroc Industries Inc., the lights flicker on and off repeatedly-- you get about a second or two of light alternating with a second or two of darkness.

This is especially frustrating due to a slew of moving platforms and enemies, both of which go invisible in the darkness leaving only DK, Diddy, and bananas appearing on the screen. And no, Squawks isn't here to help this time.
9. When fighting the area's final boss, the Dumb Drum, which enemy does he not throw at the Kongs?

Answer: Zinger

The boss battle, like the previous ones, involves five rounds. Each round of this particular boss battle involves foes being dropped on the Kongs beginning with Kritters, then progressing to Slippas (snakes), Klaptraps, Klumps, and then finally Armies (armadillos).

These enemies are no different from their regular level counterparts and, as usual, Diddy can not jump on a Klump to defeat it, so strategy or caution may be needed.
10. Is it possible to damage the Dumb Drum boss directly?

Answer: No

The Oil Drum boss found at the end of Kremkroc Industries Inc. is unique in that no other stage bosses release other enemies to do their bidding. Although the level still takes place in a pile of bananas, the drum will try to squash the Kongs before hanging around the top of the arena dropping increasingly more difficult enemies on DK and Diddy. All other final bosses are animals of sorts (ie. Gnawty, Necky, Queen B., etc.).
