Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Your character in "Dawn of the Dragons" starts out as an unlikely hero, just picking up an improvised weapon in self-defense. What is the weapon you are given when starting the game?

Answer: A pitchfork

The story of "Dawn of the Dragons" begins in the fields, where some farmhands are suddenly attacked by a band of marauding kobolds. The player, a generic farmhand, just picks up his or her pitchfork and fights back.
2. As a hero, you'll need some equipment. Which of the following is NOT the name of an equipment slot in the game?

Answer: Trinket

There are ten equipment slots in "Dawn of the Dragons": Five represent your armor (Helm, Chest, Gloves, Pants and Boots), two your wielded weapons and shields (Main Hand and Off Hand), two your jewelry and magic items (Ring and Neck) and one the beast you choose to ride on (Mount).

The Trinket slot was available on the now discontinued "Legacy of a Thousand Suns" game taking place in the far future of Dawn's timeline.
3. "Dawn of the Dragon" gives you three resources to attack opponents with and each attack will deplete one. Which of these is TRUE about resources?

Answer: Honor is used to attack guild campaigns

The three resource bars are Energy, Stamina and Honor. Energy is primarily used for quests although Elite and Deadly raids can also use it, Stamina is used for most raids and Honor is used for all guild content, including guild raids, campaigns and adventures.

Once you are out of resources ("bars"), you will need to wait for them to replenish, level up or use a potion to refill them.

Attack is one of the base stats determining your damage output and is not used up.
4. Like in many role playing video games, you will level up over time. What is the maximum level a player character can reach in "Dawn of the Dragons"?

Answer: There is no limit

In "Dawn of the Dragons", level is not necessarily an indicator of power - it just counts how many times you have played through your resource bars. If you play seriously, you will reach level 1,000 in your first month and some of the most dedicated players have passed level 10,000.
5. It's dangerous to go alone. Take this! What are the in-game structures called that will hold the many followers you pick up during your journeys, letting some of them fight for you?

Answer: Legions

Your active legion is your main source of damage against raids and campaigns. You begin the game with a legion called "March", capable of holding only one commander, one general and two troops. Later legions you can acquire or purchase always only have one commander, but can hold upwards of twenty generals and seventy troops as well as armaments, special power-boosting equipment that only fits on legions.

Your commander is special in that he or she also gets to use one of your equipment sets - you get many of that set's special abilities, although you do not benefit from its basic Attack and Defense bonuses.
6. Once you're well equipped and have acquired a few followers, it's time to fight dragons! Which is the first dragon enemy you will encounter in the main quest story?

Answer: Erebus the Black

Erebus is actually not the first dragon you will see - that honor goes to Solus, your faithful mount and the only named dragon on your side - but the first opponent. You encounter him at the end of the third quest zone, at the Dragon's Camp. Mesyra and Phaedra are two of the five dragons fought in the ninth quest, "The Dragon's Claw" and Drakontos is the overlord and final adversary of the seventeenth quest, "Thresholds".
7. If you want some real power, you will sooner or later want to buy some premium content. Thankfully, the game offers quite a few options to get Planet Coins, the premium currency, for free. Which of these is NOT a way to earn Planet Coins?

Answer: Watch in-game ads

You can gain Planet Coins for leveling up - one every five levels and some substantial amounts upon reaching levels 2,500, 5,000 and 10,000 - as well as by trading your Achievement Points for King's Bounty bags and by converting your daily pitchfork tokens into either Idols of the Devoted or Exalted Hero Chests.

Through judicious use of the in-game earning methods, it is possible to create a very competitive character without ever spending a cent of real money.
8. You don't have the currency for a premium general yet? Well, let's earn a so-called Freemium, a premium quality legendary general that you can get by completing certain in-game tasks. Which of the following four highly desirable generals is a Freemium?

Answer: Dahrizon

Dahrizon (named for the in-game character of the author of most of Dawn's story line) is available through completing the "Scrolls of Dahrizon" quest zone. Getting him and his legion tactics should be a priority for every new player as they add up to a 300% legion power bonus.

Mathias and Tussao are two of the strongest premiums from the early days and can both be obtained with a lucky draw from the Exalted Hero chest you get after logging in 300 days (or by gambling away your hard earned Planet Coins on flash sales - a method generally not recommended). Machaon, a very powerful resource restoring general, can only be obtained through gambling.
9. If you want to get ahead in the game, you will want to hit all the World Raids and Event Raids available. Players often confuse these two types - what is the difference between them?

Answer: Event Raids last 24 hours, World Raids from 2 to 12 days

Both Event Raids and World Raids are special raids only called by the developers. They have no health bar, so they can't be killed ahead of timer or fail - they simply last out their time after which everyone gets loot based on their damage dealt. The only hard and fast rule differentiating the two kinds is that Event Raids last only 24 hours while World Raids last several days (most commonly five).
10. As soon as you've built some damage potential, you'll certainly also want to join some campaigns. Which of these best describes a campaign?

Answer: A set of special guild raids that unlock each other on a map

All of these four alternatives exist in "Dawn of the Dragons" - the raid frenzy is called a War (or War Event), the minigames event is called Festival of Drifting Dreams and the legion-based PvP mode is called Invasion.

Campaigns, however, are guild raid collections where you need to unlock the later raids by defeating the earlier ones. Each raid (node) usually has an 18 hour timer, but you only get between 48 and 120 hours for the entire campaign and the longest path on a map (raids that need to be done in order) is 11, so you want to be a lot faster than that 18 on average.
