Black Model Ts were the only choice between 1915-1926 but before that - between 1909 and 1914 - black was not actually available. It is often believed that Henry Ford said "Any customer can have a car painted any colour that he wants so long as it is black", but there is no actual evidence that he really said this.
2. In which year was the Jaguar Cars Limited company founded?

Answer: 1945

The company had been known as the S.S. Cars Limited but after the War, due to the connotations from the War of the SS initials the name of the company was changed to Jaguar Cars Limited.

5. Which sports car manufacturer was commissioned to develop the DeLorean DMC-12?

Answer: Lotus

John DeLorean originally approached Porsche to continue design and development of the DMC-12, having sidelined the original designer. Due to the four year lead time Porsche required DeLorean approached a struggling Lotus who agreed to design the car for him. Very little of the original, fairly simple design was left after Lotus became involved.

Aimed at the US car market, it had been planned for the car to be made in the US but financial incentives given by the British Government meant that the factory was located in Dunmurry, Northern Ireland. The car was a flop and the company folded in controversial circumstances.
6. Which car was the first to feature Gull Wing doors?

Launched in 1954, the Mercedes 300SL Coupe was originally a 2 seater closed sports car with distinctive Gull Wing doors. It was later offered as an open roadster.

The Bongo,a big minivan, the Bongo Brawny, a longer version of the Bongo similar to a minibus, and the Bongo Friendee, a campervan, were all created by Mazda for the Japanese domestic market.
