Airports in Canada all have C as the first letter of their ICAO code. The next three letters will often be used in the airports' respective IATA code. Toronto is CYYZ, Vancouver is CYVR and Calgary is CYYC.
2. Orlando International Airport, Florida, USA

Answer: KMCO

In the contiguous United States, the ICAO code is represented by a K in the first letter. The last three letters will often be used as the existing IATA code (Atlanta is KATL and Los Angeles is KLAX), though there are a few exceptions. Airports in Alaska and Hawaii are represented with a P (Northern Pacific) as its first letter.
3. Cancun International Airport, Mexico

Answer: MMUN

The letter M is the first letter for all nations in Central America, including Mexico and Caribbean airports west of Puerto Rico. The second letter indicates the country (M for Mexico, N for Nicaragua, Y for the Bahamas). The last two letters indicate the specific airport (MMUN for Cancun, MMMX for Mexico City).
4. Princess Juliana International Airport, St. Maarten

Answer: TNCM

The first letter of T in an ICAO code indicates an airport located in the Caribbean, east of the Dominican Republic. They include St. Maarten (TNCM), San Juan, Puerto Rico (TJSJ) and St. Thomas, USVI (TIST). It also includes the island of Bermuda (TXKF).
5. Galeao International Airport, Rio De Janeiro, Brazil

S as the first letter of an ICAO code indicates any airport in South America. The second letter indicates the nation (A for Argentina, C for Chile and B for Brazil). Due to its size, Brazil is represented by more than one letter. The last two letters are the airport identifier. Rio's main airport (Galeao International) is SBGL, while its secondary airport (Santos Dumont) is SBRJ.
6. Heathrow International Airport, London, UK

Answer: EGLL

E indicates an airport located in Northern Europe (except Iceland). The second letter indicates the nation (G for Great Britain, D for Germany, H for Holland). The last two are the airport identifiers. London's Heathrow Airport is EGLL, while Gatwick Airport is coded as EGKK.
7. Charles de Gaulle International Airport, Paris, France

Answer: LFPG

L indicates an airport in Southern Europe (except Kosovo). The second letter indicates the nation (F for France, I for Italy, E for Spain). The last two letters indicate the specific airport. LFPG is for Paris-de Gaulle and LFPO is Paris-Orly. L also includes all of Turkey and Israel.

Airports in West African nations such as Nigeria and Ghana use D as their first letter. Airports that lie even further west like those in Morocco and Senegal use G. Airports in the Northeastern portions of Africa, including Kenya, Tanzania and Egypt use H.

The first letter F represents airports located in Central and Southern Africa. This ICAO region includes Chad, Madagascar and several islands in the western portion of the Indian Ocean.

W as the first letter indicates airports located in the nations of Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei and Singapore. Airports in the rest of Southeast Asia, including India, use V as its first letter.
13. Chek Lap Kok Airport, Hong Kong, China

Answer: VHHH

Hong Kong's airports use V as the first letter of their ICAO codes, which is used for other Southeast Asian airports. The old Kai Tak Airport used VHHX. They kept their identifiers even after Hong Kong had been returned to China in 1997. The rest of China uses Z for their ICAO codes (Beijing is ZBAA).
14. Narita International Airport, Tokyo, Japan

Answer: RJAA

R identifies airports of nations in Far East Asia, such as Japan, Korea, Taiwan and the Philippines. Narita Airport in Tokyo, Japan is RJAA, Incheon Airport in Seoul, South Korea is RKSI and Taoyuan Airport in Taipei, Taiwan is RCTP.
15. Kingsford Smith International Airport, Sydney, Australia

Answer: YSSY

Australian airports are all indicated by having Y as its first letter. Kingsford Smith Airport in Sydney is YSSY, Melbourne International Airport is YMML and Perth's airport is YPPH. Airports in New Zealand, the southern Pacific Ocean and also a few in Antarctica use N.
