1. Blue Heaven Revolving Restaurant, Jin Jiang Tower

Answer: Shanghai, China

When it was built in 1988, Shanghai's Jin Jiang Tower was the city's tallest structure, but it has since been passed by the Oriental Pearl Tower in 1994. The Blue Heaven Restaurant, however, is still the largest observatory revolving restaurant in Shanghai. It is part of the Jin Jiang Hotel.
2. Restaurant 181, Olympiaturm (Olympia Tower)

Answer: Munich, Germany

Built and named for the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, the Olympiaturm was opened in 1968. I visited it as a student the following year and could look down at the Olympic Stadium in its early stages of construction.

Restaurant 181 seats 230 people and makes a full rotation every 53 minutes. The restaurant is about 600 feet (182 m) in height and about 26 feet above that is another deck which includes a rock and roll museum.
3. Mascaron Restaurante Giratorio, Torre Mirante da Serra

Answer: Veranopolis, Brazil

Veranopolis is in southern Brazil, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, lying in on a latitude about halfway between Paraguay and Uruguay. Driving distance from Rio de Janeiro is 1427 kilometers, or about 890 miles.

The Mascaron Restaurant serves Italian fare and is Brazil's first rotating restaurant. The Mirante da Serra Tower is Brazil's tallest.
4. SkyCity, Space Needle

Answer: Seattle, Washington

The Space Needle was built for the 1962 World's Fair held in Seattle. At the time of its building it was the tallest structure west of the Mississippi River.

The SkyCity Restaurant was originally named the Eye of the Needle. It revolves once every 47 minutes. The motor that propels the rotation is only 1 and 1/2 horsepower.
5. Akemi Restaurant, Golden Jubilee PSPF Towers

Answer: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

The Akemi Restaurant is the only revolving restaurant in Tanzania. Although it specializes in Italian food, it also serves Tanzanian dishes. It is located on the 21st floor (of 24) in the Golden Jubilee Towers, the tallest building in East Africa at its completion in 2011.
6. 360 Restaurant, CN Tower

Answer: Toronto, Canada

The 360 Restaurant is located over 1,150 feet (351 m) above Toronto, more than twice as high as Seattle's SkyCity Restaurant in the Space Needle, the first of its kind.

Completed in 1976, the CN Tower, named for the Canadian National Railroad, the company that built the structure, held the records for the world's tallest tower and tallest free-standing structure until 2010, with the building of Dubai's Burj Khalifa and China's Canton Tower.
7. The Seventh Heaven Restaurant, Ostankino Tower

The Seventh Heaven Restaurant consists of three levels: the 64-seat Bistro, the 60-seat Cafe, and the 48-seat Restaurant. Altitudes range from the Bistro's 1,096 feet (334 m) to the Restaurant's 1,076 feet (328 m).

Completed in 1974, the Ostankino Tower claims to be the second-tallest free-standing building in the world, according to the "World Federation of Great Towers" website. Completed in 1967 as a radio and TV tower, it stands 1,772 feet (540.1 m) tall. According to Wikipedia, it is Europe's tallest and the world's eleventh.
8. Donauwalzer, Donauturm (Danube Tower)

Answer: Vienna, Austria

The "Donauwalzer" Restaurant (or Danube Waltz) is the higher of the Danube Tower's two eating establishments. The lower restaurant is named "Panorama." The upper dining area is a bit more upscale than the Panorama, and is about 27 feet higher, at 556 feet (169.4 m). An observation deck below the restaurants also contains a site for bungee jumping.
9. Alto Tower Restaurant, Black Mountain Tower (Telstra Tower)

Answer: Canberra, Australia

More properly known as the "Telstra Tower Alto Revolving Restaurant," the dining area makes a revolution about every 85 minutes. The tower also includes an indoor observation deck and two outdoor viewing platforms.

The tower rises 640 feet (195.2 m) above Black Mountain, which itself rises 2,664 feet (812 m) above sea level.
10. Näsinneula Restaurant, Näsinneula Observation Tower

Answer: Tampere, Finland

The Näsinneula Observation Tower oversees Lake Näsijärvi, about 100 miles north of Helsinki. The city of Tampere is Finland's third most-populous city and the largest inland city in the Nordic countries.

At 551 feet high (168 m), the tower is Finland's tallest free-standing structure and the tallest observation deck in Scandinavia, depending on your source of information.
