When Ethan took the bait, he chased Claire and Jack tackled him to the ground. Ethan was surrounded as Sawyer pointed his gun and said, "Not so fast, Jungle Boy." Ethan was shot dead by Charlie (who had retrieved Jack's fallen weapon).

When Jack asked what she remembered last, Claire said that she was on a plane headed for L.A. Jack told her they all were also on that plane, and crashed on the island about a month ago.
