      Boone and Shannon. Boone and Shannon don't appear in this episode, although Boone is mentioned by Kate. Sun and Jin have a split second of camera time as Claire watches them on the sea shore.       Australian rules football/Rugby. The television can be seen as Sawyer drinks in the dark bar. The bar is pretty empty and neither Sawyer nor Jack's dad are watching the game.

      She fell off the monkey bars. Locke explained how his foster mother blamed herself for his sister's death. Six months after the funeral, a dog walked into the house and sat in the middle of the floor and stared at his mother until his mother started crying. The dog eventually moved in with them and slept in his sister's room on her bed. When his mother died a few years later, the dog disappeared as mysteriously as it had appeared.

      Hugo "Hurley" Reyes. Hurley saw Sayid hanging out by his tent so he went over and asked Sayid if he ever got Gulf War Syndrome. Sayid reminded Hurley how it was the other side, as in the United States soldiers, who got Gulf War Syndrome and Hurley commented that Sayid was correct. Hurley then asked Sayid what it was called when someone got shell shocked and Sayid answered that was post traumatic stress disorder. Hurley asked Sayid if he ever had post traumatic stress disorder so Sayid asked him why he wanted to know. Hurley told Sayid he was worried about Charlie since Charlie shot Ethan in the chest four times

      Hugo "Hurley" Reyes. About fifteen minutes into the episode, Charlie and Hurley were in a scene and Charlie commented how he appreciated Hurley's help but he did not have to assist him. It turned out that Hurley was helping Charlie lug Ethan's body to a place on the island so he could bury him since Charlie killed Ethan. Hurley joked that Charlie could bury Ethan until he rose from the dead.

    Near the beginning of the episode, who asked Claire how she was feeling?1.16 "Outlaws"

      Charlie Pace. In Claire's first scene, she saw Charlie in the jungle and sat down next to him and they said hello to each other. Charlie asked Claire how she was feeling and she responded how she felt very pregnant. She told Charlie she had some memories the previous night and how Charlie was in them. Claire asked Charlie if they could go for a walk but Charlie said he had to do something and could not walk with her.
