Forrest was eyeing the pancakes hungrily as he sat at the table.
"
ease pass the syrup", he said as he picked up his fork. Today was going to be a fun day. His
ike, and his cousins
en and Lucy were going on a tree identifying hike in Beach's Woods.
Forrest gulped down his pancakes and milk, grabbed his backpack and as he was walking out of the house, he said goodbye to his grand
ry.
Forrest thought about taking his pet boxer, Brutus, but he thought the dog would run wild on the hike. Besides, he was looking forward to a day of peace and quiet, with no Wi-
adio, video games or telephones distracting him.
The group met at Buckey Lake, ready to begin their adventure. As they entered the woods, Forrest's eyes widened as the pla
kened because of the sprawling canopy of leaves blocking the sun. As Forrest looked up in amazement, he tripped over a log, falling hard on the ground. When he got up everyone could see that he had a bloody nose and his e
as black.
"Should we turn back?" asked Lucy!" " Lu
on!" Forrest enthusiastically shouted. He turned to continue the journey, stepping into a large mud puddle. Forrest lost his balance and made a big splash when he fell into the puddle.
"You're s
ed !" Mike exclaimed.
"Hel
ed help!" Forrest shouted as he tried to get out of the puddle.
Forrest stood there bruised, bloody and wet. "I am sorry guys", he said as he adjusted his drenched c
ase just take me back home".
Although disappointed, the gang helped Forrest get back home. Forrest apologized again for messing up their plans.
"That's OK", Will said, we can go next week." Then he giggled while remarking, "But this week I guess we couldn't see the trees for the Forrest". They all laughed as they helped their friend get home.
