Descriptions refer to the original 13" Beanie Boppers. Some of the later 8" Teenie Beanie Boppers had the same names, but different outfits. Personal information was taken from their their swing tags as well as their profiles on the Ty website - at one time, each of them had their own personal home page, whose details are still on record.

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Wears sparkly glasses

Answer: Kooky Kandy

Kooky Kandy was one of the original six Boppers released at the Dallas Toy Gift Show on 23 June 2001. She has bright yellow hair and wears glasses whose frames resemble candy canes. According to the swing tag in her left ear, she was born on May 20 (no year specified) in Walnut Creek CA.

Her favorite things are listed as boys, pink lip gloss, talking on the phone. (No comment - I am biting my tongue.) She was retired in January 2002.
2. Top has picture of a bear wearing a Christmas hat

Answer: Jolly Janie

Jolly Janie is wearing pyjamas that have red pants and a green top that sports the head of a bear wearing a conical red cap with white trim that flops over on itself. Underneath is the legend "bearly can wait" - she is so excited for Christmas to arrive (as she was released at the height of the Christmas shopping season).

Her favorites are listed as cookies, Christmas songs and the singing, dancing Christmas that fill her room.
3. Bright orange hair, blue and yellow outfit

Answer: Dazzlin' Destiny

Dazzlin' Destiny is one of the slightly more mature looking Beanie Boppers. Dressed in a fluffy blue vest and a yellow tank top that matches her leggings, with a 'flower power' skirt, she lists her favorite things as chatting on-line, surfin' the net and teen mags.

Her favorite school subject is computer class, and her dream job would be a web master. Her wish list says she would like to have straight hair - something most of her peers might well agree with, as none of them sport long sleek locks.
4. Favourite things are snowboarding, scary movies and pepperoni pizza

Answer: Bubbly Betty

Bubbly Betty has brown hair and a blue dress with pink sleeves that match her shoes. Born 29 May in Golden CO, she describes herself as being "always in a good mood, cheerful, but easily bored." Somewhat incongruously, her dream is to be a makeup artist for monster movies. While she can only snowboard in the winter months, she would like to have pepperoni pizza every day!
5. Wears white trousers and clogs

Answer: Cool Cassidy

Cool Cassidy, who wears a purple ribbon tied in a bow instead of a belt, was born in Henderson NV on January 19, and was available for exactly one year, starting on 27 December 2001. Her pet is a yellow lab named Taxi, and she would like another one - she lists puppies as one of her favorites, along with ballet and birthday parties.
6. Wears a beige floppy hat

Answer: Lucky Lucy

Underneath the hat, Lucky Lucy has very long pale blond hair which is worn loose. She also wears a red and white striped top, with denim bell-bottoms covering her deck shoes. So it isn't surprising to learn that she loves dolphins, water skiing and fish sticks. (Personally, I find this a bit conflicted, but maybe that's just me.) She was born in Newport Beach CA, so has plenty of access to the sea in order to indulge herself in her favorite activities along with her identical twin sister.
7. Wears a hoodie and has a dog named Pumpkin

Answer: Naughty Natalie

Naughty Natalie also sports a red and white bandana tied around her golden locks to keep them off her face. The red hoodie can be worn hood up or hood down. Appropriately for her name, she enjoys teasing boys, playing tag and telling jokes. She wants to have her own farm when she grows up - which may or may not be located near her home town of Autumn acres OH.
8. First African-American Beanie Bopper

Answer: Jazzy Jessie

Jazzy Jessie was introduced a few months after the first group of six. She has braided hair and she wears a denim skirt, with a multi coloured top and shoes. Born in the New York borough of Queens on January 30, she hopes to be a nurse. She lists her likes as soft pretzels, basketball and jazz, and dislikes worms.
9. First boy Beanie Bopper

Answer: Bronx Bomber

On 5 August 2001, Ty gave away 18,000 Bronx Bomber Boppers at a game between the New York Yankees and the Anaheim Angels. The dolls were also given away at the other games in that series, but were then retired. The Bronx Bomber wears a Yankees pinstripe uniform. He was born in the Bronx, on August 5, and his favorite things are playing baseball and cheering for the Yankees. Ultimate dream is hitting a winning home run in the bottom of the ninth, and his favorite school subject is apparently lunch.

More boy dolls were subsequently released, many of them at sporting events and suitably themed.
10. A German Beanie Bopper

Answer: Paula Plappertasche

I kept her full name for the quiz, because it provides a nice hint as to her nationality, but she was more commonly referred to as Paula P. Born in Berlin on April 1, she wears a black leather jacket and dreams of being a sign language teacher.

This is one example of the special dolls that were available only in one country - others were exclusively released in Canada (Hat-trick Hunter was dressed as a member of the Canadian national hockey team) and England (Footie was, you guessed it, a soccer/football player.)
