Answer: Stan

Herrington High School seems like any normal high school in the U.S. midwest and its student body is comprised of all the cliched cliques you would come to expect. Its football team is run ragged during practice; its newspaper is always looking for the scoop; its loners want to be left alone. Little do they know, something is transforming its faculty. One night Principal Drake is accosted and injured by Coach Willis as she departs from the school for the evening. She manages to escape out the front door, narrowly making it out of one of the unexpectedly-chained exits and into the waiting arms of a seemingly sympathetic Mrs. Olson. Unfortunately, she's not there to help. Instead, she emotionlessly stabs Miss Drake with a pair of scissors.

The next day, things start to seem amiss. Delilah talks to her reporters at the school newspaper while Zeke drives up, grabs drugs out of the back of his car, and starts to sell them out on the front lawn. Casey arrives on the bus and glances over at Delilah just in time to get punched in the face by a jock. Stokely makes a wry comment at his expense as she walks by and bumps into Stan. Stan's there to speak to his girlfriend, attempting to be vulnerable with her, but she's not particularly interested unless there's a scoop behind it. He'll later tell her he's quitting football and focusing on his studies, something she's upset with because, in the social order, head cheerleaders date star quarterbacks.

Answer: A lesbian

While Stan is pulled away by Gabe and unable to speak to Delilah about his future plans, new student Marybeth can only watch as Casey is nabbed by the jocks and forced to endure their pranks; the rest of the student body doesn't bat an eye at this. She runs into two apathetic fellow students on her way into the front office, looking for where to check in. Zeke, meanwhile, hands off a pair of fake IDs with a couple samples of his home-brewed drug, Skat, which he guarantees will jack them up.

In the faculty lounge, some of the teachers bicker and struggle. Nurse Harper treats an injury and complains about being sick while Coach Willis drinks - often - from the water cooler. None of the air conditioners appear to be working. No one, it seems, has seen Principal Drake.

After a less-than-rousing history class, Marybeth seeks out Stokely in the schoolyard and breaks the ice with an introduction, attempting to find a friend in the purposely-isolated girl. Stokely is bristly off the jump, and worse so when Delilah comes over to introduce herself and insult Stokely for being an evil lesbian. It's a put-on; Stokely actually has a crush on Delilah's boyfriend, Stan, but he's taken.

Answer: He brings it to the science room

Alone after being beaten up, Casey has his lunch in the bleachers of the football field before heading back to class. It's there, while he strides across the grass, that he finds an odd item on the ground. He manages to pocket it before Coach Willis spots what he's got, even though there's a confrontation there, to bring it to Mr. Furlong's science room.

Mr. Furlong is particularly interested in whatever Casey's got - it's an odd specimen that has absolutely no business being in Ohio, of all places. With the other students watching as he analyzes it under a microscope, Mr. Furlong notes that whatever it is is a pelagic organism, but he doesn't understand what its surface tissue is composed of. It might be a completely new species; they need to call the university.

When Gabe accidentally spills water on the creature, the liquid appears to resuscitate it. It comes into its fuller self when Mr. Furlong dunks it into a tank. As an experiment he attempts to touch the creature, causing it to replicate and bite him. It's all quite weird and potentially unsafe, even if it's kind of interesting.

Answer: Nurse Harper

Things start getting weird at Herrington High at an increasingly alarming speed. After Stan quits the football team without getting reamed out by Coach Willis, he hits the showers only to come, unexpectedly, face-to-face with Mrs. Brummel, who appears to be suffering from a debilitating condition that's causing her skin to slough off her body. While Stan yells at Casey to get help, Mrs. Brummel claims that something is out to get everyone. Mrs. Olson later tells Stan and Casey that Mrs. Brummel's condition was a result of her cancer treatment.

Out in the parking lot, Zeke is confronted by Miss Burke who tells him that he can't be conducting his unethical business on school property. He jokingly offers her a pack of condoms before she walks away, disappointed with his wasted intellect.

Delilah, meanwhile, tells Casey that she needs a new top story - they have no page one. Casey tries to speak on the new species they may have discovered, but Delilah instead sneaks the pair of them into the faculty lounge, hunting for something more breaking. They find it in more ways than one. When Miss Olson and Coach Willis come into the lounge for water, the two hide in the closet and watch as the staff talks about Mrs. Brummel not making it; the rest of the staff, for the most part, has been commuted. Nurse Harper comes in shortly after, and once Miss Olson closes the door, things get much worse. Casey and Delilah can only watch as the two staffers pin her down and implant an alien creature into her ear, violently converting her as well.

Casey and Delilah aren't able to keep quiet in their hiding spot, especially when they discover they've placed themselves into the closet with Mrs. Brummel's corpse. They wait for the right moment to burst out and escape, racing past Principal Burke on the way out, heading to the police station to report the events that they witnessed.

Answer: Water

Although Casey brings the police to Herrington High in an effort to expose the school faculty for whatever is going on, it's clear that the staff has taken the time to cover their tracks. Mrs. Brummel's body is nowhere to be found and Nurse Harper's story has already been established - she's been sick, and she's prone to seizures. Principal Drake brings the the police into her office and, unsurprisingly, they come out different from when they went in. He manages to get his parents out of the building before they can be taken aside as well.

That night, after Casey's parents scour his room for drugs, Casey sneaks out of his bedroom window, nearly into the waiting arms of his teachers. His father catches him before he can get futher, and before anything bad can happen.

The next day, at school, Casey speaks to Delilah who, incredulous about the whole thing, takes him aside to try and sort through what they're facing. While the two of them search for Stan, the faculty moves in and out of the staff lounge, imbibing in as much water as possible. While the cupboards fill with bottles, the water cooler is replenished non-stop. Throughout the day, kids keep getting called to the main office. Others line up for check-ins with Nurse Harper, coming out of her room a bit different. More kids are outside, lined up for the water fountain. While Zeke tries to speak to Marybeth, he's confronted by some of his regular buyers, who request all the drugs he can provide. Miss Burke, now dressed provocatively, swoops in to belittle him in a way quite unbecoming for her normally-mousey self.

Casey confides in Stokely that what he thinks is happening is akin to an alien invasion, only the creatures are transforming the school into something evil. They meet up with Delilah and Stan to check in on the specimen in the science lab, but they find that it's missing having been, as Mr. Furlong notes, sent to the university for sampling. Zeke and Marybeth arrive just before Mr. Furlong does, and the science teacher attacks the six of them when they reveal they know about the aliens amongst them. Fortunately, Zeke is able to bring down Furlong once he stabs his pen-sealed drugs into his eye.

Answer: Caffeine

After the six bring down Mr. Furlong and Casey places another specimen into a jar, the group decides to get away from the school altogether, fearing for their safety. The problem is that, at this point, most of the school has already been assimilated. They catch a number of knowing gazes as they make their way to Zeke's car and drive off. Worse, when they hit a police road block at the edge of town, they find that they have no real escape. They ultimately decide to hide away in Zeke's garage lab while they figure out how to stay safe.

It doesn't take long before Zeke reveals the contents of his drugs-- crushed-up caffeine pills-- and they're able to deduce why it's effective against whatever they're facing. Using the specimen that Casey collected, dousing it in water, and placing it into a lab rat, Zeke determines that the parasite takes root in the body of its new host and controls it. The problem is that it's incomplete; it can replicate, but it functions as part of a larger host, and with it having dried out his lab rat, it's a good assumption that it needs to be supplied with water to survive. The caffeine is a diuretic. It dries them out faster, killing them on contact.

Stokely theorizes that all of the parasites are connected. If alien literature has anything to say about it, they have to kill the master to kill them all. They just have to find the leader, and to do that, they have to fight. Stan finds the situation to be a bit unreasonable since, after all, any of them could be an alien and they'd never know it. And naturally this leads to a little test. While everyone gets at each others' throats, Zeke suggests that they solve this by taking some of his drugs-- it's the only way.

And so, one-by-one, they snort the Skat, not realizing that a car has parked itself outside. Casey is the first to take it, instantly getting giddy off the caffeine. Zeke does it next, at gunpoint, then Stan. Then Stokely. When it comes down to Marybeth and Delilah, they both move to take theirs at the same time, but Delilah reveals herself to be an alien. She destroys Zeke's lab before smashing through out the wall and escaping into the waiting vehicle.

Answer: The football team

Once Delilah is revealed to be a parasite, the others realize that they may be the only ones left who can stop the invasion before it leaves their small town, so with that they gather the remainder of Zeke's ground-up caffeine and decide to infiltrate the school during the big football game and search for the alleged 'queen'. While they do this, the football players actively infect members of the opposing team while the game is ongoing.

Stokely and Stan theorize that the queen must be Principal Drake, and spotting her out in the crowd, they devise a way to draw her towards the school, trapping her in the auditorium where the others are waiting. They manage to subdue Principal Drake and hold her at gunpoint, insisting that she snort some of Zeke's drugs, but she refuses. In the midst of this, however, it begins to rain outside.

Zeke grabs the gun from Stan and shoots Principal Drake in the head before she can lash out, and while it seems like they may have shot an innocent woman, their suspicions are confirmed correct when she rises from the ground. Marybeth tosses the supply of caffeine on the alien before she can reach the others, and it puts an end to their former Principal, but it doesn't solve the issue of knowing if they were correct in their assessment. With only a few pen tubes of caffeine left, Stan runs out to the football field to determine if the team has turned back to normal. They haven't.

The others wait for Stan to come back and, when he does, he begs them to let him back in. Unfortunately, when he won't take a tube of Skat to prove his humanity, they have no choice but to leave the doors sealed and figure out alternatives. The queen is still out there, and there are only four of them left.

Answer: Marybeth

No matter what, the remaining survivors need to get more caffeine into their hands to fight back, and the only place to get that is from the trunk of Zeke's car. While Stokely and Marybeth wait in the auditorium, the boys decide to put together a plan. Although the football team is on the prowl, patrolling the parking lot, the two manage to split up with Casey as a decoy and Zeke bound for the prize.

Casey manages to draw away the football team and hide in one of the unlocked buses, but he's found there by Delilah who, attempting to convince him to give in, doesn't manage to nab him before he escapes out the hatch in the roof and across the yard.

Zeke, meanwhile, gets what he needs out of his car but gets intercepted by Miss Burke. She bursts through his window but he gets the car running, careening the pair of them through the parking lot, pulling on his seatbelt, and colliding with the side of a parked bus. Zeke makes it out superficially injured, but with what he needs, and he watches as Miss Burke's head reattaches to the rest of her body.

In the auditorium, Stokely and Marybeth think about who the alien leader could be and consider "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" where, despite all the effort, the humans didn't win. Marybeth comments that maybe it's for the best, and that the aliens are actually making things better. Before Stokely can turn around to this comment, she's punched out of her seat. As it turns out, Marybeth-- the new student-- was the alien queen the whole time.

Answer: Zeke

Casey and Stokely will rush out of the gymnasium and into the pool room next door in an effort to escape the alien queen, but this will prove to be a mistake when the creature leaps into the water and swims to meet them on the other side. It wraps its tentacle around Stokely's leg and violently drags her into the water to make its attack, and Casey will barely manage to get her to the edge and out of the pool.

When the two run into the locker room to hide, the situation will grow more dire. While the alien, now in her human form once again as Marybeth, will make her way in, Zeke will return via another entrance, his drugs in-hand. Stokely and Marybeth will point the finger at one another, accusing each of being the alien, but Marybeth, having shed her clothes in her transformation, won't be able to explain her nudity. The catch is that she already infected Stokely in the pool, and when she holds Zeke back, Marybeth is able to escape getting drugged. Casey is able to grab Stokely and lock her away where she can't be a danger, but, while the boys try to hide and escape, Zeke is grabbed and knocked clear across the room, out of commission.

Casey will grab the pens of Skat off the ground and make a run for the gymnasium, the alien in pursuit, before squeezing in behind the bleachers and hitting the switch to automatically close them shut. The alien follows and, as Casey leaps out the other end, the creature gets stuck against the wall, unable to remove itself from the trap, only inches from reaching him. It gives Casey the perfect opportunity to jam the caffeine into the creature's eye, but in turn, it lets out a blast of parasites that launch into Casey's face.

Answer: Yes

Though Casey takes a blast of parasites from the alien queen, it doesn't take long before the caffeine takes its effect, dries out the extra-terrestrial, and kills it, in turn killing all of the others under her hive mind. He'll head back to the locker room to free Stokely and grab an injured Zeke, discovering that they made it out alive after all. It's over; they survived.

A month later, life returns to mostly normal at Herrington High. While the football team practices, it turns out that Stan made good on his decision to leave their roster. In his place, Zeke competes. Miss Burke watches on from the stands, at least a bit pleased that he's taken a bit more care towards his attitude.

Stan doesn't get back together with Delilah, especially in light of her ambitions and his new goals. Instead, he and Stokely find that they're ideal for one another. She's shed her goth image without any regrets.

Casey, now considered a hero with national news outlets acknowledging him as the one who saved the world and killed the alien, is less of an outcast. He and Delilah, finally, get together as a couple. They turn to meet a group of newscasters, there for more scoop, as he embraces his new coolness.
