Songs with one-word titles will include a hint. For example, if this quiz was about John Lennon, this one-word song title is a message of peace, love and dangerous ideas. Then you'd choose the word "Imagine" as the answer, right?

Kathy Valentine and Heatherton wrote the song "Apology" on The Go-Go's album "God Bless The Go-Go's" in 2001.

Song 2) "Call Me Maybe"

The Go-Go's covered Carly Rae Jepsen's song "Call Me Maybe" at six live shows during 2012.

Carly Rae Jepsen, Josh Ramsay and Tavish Crowe wrote "Call Me Maybe" and Carly originally released this song as a single backed with "Both Sides Now" and "Talk to Me" on 20 Sep 2011.

Carly's "Call Me Maybe" ranked on 96 music charts in 35 countries during six years and peaked at number one on 26 charts: Australia (3), Austria (2), Belgium (4), Brazil (3), Canada (6), Czech Republic (2), Denmark (2), Finland, France (3), Germany (2), Hungary (2), Ireland (2), Israel (2), Italy (2), Japan (6), Lebanon, Luxembourg, Mexico (2), Netherlands (4), New Zealand (2), Norway, Poland (2), Romania, Scotland, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea (6), Spain (2), Sweden (2), Switzerland (2), Taiwan, the United Kingdom (5), the United States (16), Turkey (2) and Venezuela.

Sixty-one artists have also recorded "Call Me Maybe" on a single, album or soundtrack, and 77 artists included "Call Me Maybe" on a concert playlist 461 times since Carly first performed this song at the Vogue Theatre in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on 23 Jan 2012.

Song 3) "Fashion Seekers"

Charlotte Caffey and Joseph Fleury wrote the song "Fashion Seekers" on The Go-Go's album "Return to the Valley of The Go-Go's" in 1994.

According to The Go-Go's Marks in Time blog, Joseph Fleury managed five punk bands: Milk 'N' Cookies, Sparks, The Dickies, The Mumps and The Swinging Madisons (Felt, 2013).

The recording of "Fashion Seekers" on the retrospective album "Return to the Valley of The Go-Go's" is a live rehearsal at the Mabuhay Gardens in San Francisco, California on 1 Aug 1979.

Song 4) "He's So Strange"

Jane Wiedlin wrote the song "He's So Strange" on The Go-Go's album "Vacation" in 1982.

The Go-Go-Go-Go-Go also recorded "He's So Strange" on the album "PRF 50 Tribute" (Premier Rock Forum 50th tribute album) by various artists on 31 Aug 2018, and Natalie Sweet recorded Jane's "He's So Strange" on The Go-Go's tribute album "If You Gotta Go-Go, Go-Go Now" by various artists on 22 Apr 2022.

Song 5) "Just a Number"

The Go-Go's only performed their unreleased song "Just A Number" one time and this sole performance was at the Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, California on 4 Oct 1978.

According to Discogs, the only reference to The Go-Go's "Just A Number" is "Hellogg's Punk Tarts" on Hellogg's Records. "Hellogg's Punk Tarts" is a bootleg recording of the show at the Whiskey a Go Go with originalists Jane Wiedlin, Margot Olavarria, Belinda Carlisle, Elissa Bello and newcomer Charlotte Caffey. The Go-Go's, however, never officially released this early song.

According to the audio-only recording of this bootleg on YouTube, The Go-Go's performed 12 songs during this show and five other songs on their playlist have also not been recorded on any album or single (Go-Go's - October 4th, 1978 Whiskey a Go Go, Hollywood, CA, uploaded by Distort Oakland).

Song 6) "Lust to Love"

Jane Wiedlin and Charlotte Caffey wrote the song "Lust to Love" on The Go-Go's album "Beauty and the Beat" in 1981.

According to Belinda Carlisle's interview with Vulture when asked which is The Go-Go's best song, "The lyrics to 'Lust to Love' are amazing and it captures our attitude towards romance in those early days, when we were in our late teens and early twenties. And I love the chord progression, how it drops out in the beginning and then kicks in. It's probably my favorite song to perform live" (Ivie, 2021).

Six artists have also recorded "Lust to Love" on a single, album or soundtrack, and Belinda included "Lust to Love" on her concert playlist 11 times as a solo artist since The Go-Go's first performed this song at the Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, California on 2 Jan 1980.

The Go-Go's "Lust to Love" is featured in the movie "The Rules of Attraction" (2002).

Song 7) "Party Pose"

Jane Wiedlin and Charlotte Caffey wrote the song "Party Pose" on The Go-Go's album "Return to the Valley of The Go-Go's" in 1994.

The track containing "Party Pose" on the retrospective album "Return to the Valley of The Go-Go's" is a mashup with the song "Living at the Canterbury" and both recordings were during live rehearsals in February 1979.

Song 8) "Stuck in My Car"

Jane Wiedlin, Charlotte Caffey and Peter Stuart wrote the song "Stuck in My Car" on The Go-Go's album "God Bless The Go-Go's" in 2001.

While with his band Dog's Eye View, Peter Stuart wrote the chart hit "Everything Falls Apart" on their debut album "Happy Nowhere" on 10 Oct 1995, and this song ranked on 15 music charts in three countries peaking at number one on the Billboard Triple-A chart: Canada (4), New Zealand and the United States (10).

The title "Stuck in My Car" may be a metaphor for being trapped in an unhappy relationship, frustrating situation or just longing for something else.

Song 9) "Turn to You"

Jane Wiedlin and Charlotte Caffey wrote the song "Turn to You" on The Go-Go's album "Talk Show" in 1984.

According to Belinda Carlisle's interview with Vulture when asked which song she wished The Go-Go's never recorded, "It's no secret to the band, but a lot of the fans would hate to hear me say 'Turn to You.' I don't like singing that song. I don't like that song [because it's a weird melody]" (Ivie, 2021).

Jane and Charlotte's "Turn to You" ranked on three music charts in two countries peaking at number 28: Canada and the United States (2).

Five artists have also recorded "Turn to You" on a single, album or soundtrack, and Belinda included "Turn to You" on her concert playlist as a solo artist at the Universal Amphitheatre in Universal City, California on 11 May 1988.

Song10) "We're Here Now"

The Go-Go's only performed their unreleased song "We're Here Now" two times and one of these venues was the Elks Lodge in Los Angeles, California on 17 Mar 1979.

March 17 was not only St. Patrick's Day in 1979 but also the night of the "Punk Massacre" at the Elks Lodge in Los Angeles after the LAPD violently shut down the well-publicized "St. Patrick's Day Dance" featuring a line-up of local punk bands. According to the website Chris Morris's Wasted Space, "As the Plugz were preparing to take the stage at around 11:30, the whip came down. The reasons for sending in a full squad of riot-equipped Los Angeles police officers to close the show remain a complete mystery" (Morris, 2014).

Speaking of The Go-Go's playlists, musician-turned-actor David Saucedo was at Elks Lodge during the raid and "While he did receive a baton blow to his back from one of LA's finest, he managed to find the guest list and the Go-Go's setlist lying on the ground getting trampled on by people running out of the venue" (Saucedo, David. "The Go-Go's Setlist from St. Patrick's Dance, 1979 March 17." David Saucedo Collection of Punk Ephemera, 1979-1988, Charles E. Young Research Library, UCLA, August 2025).
