Answer: Ernie Banks

Banks is known as 'Mr. Cub', and played his entire 19 seasons from 1953-1971 with the Cubs. The shortstop won two consecutive NL MVPs in 1958 and 1959. Unfortunately, Ernie never saw a postseason game in his career. The next Cub to have his number retired was Billy Williams in 1987.
2. Which National League team had seven Cy Young Awards earned by their pitchers in the 1990s?

Answer: Atlanta Braves

Atlanta's pitching staff was on the mark in the 1990s, helping the team to five World Series appearances in the decade. The Braves' Cy Young winners were Tom Glavine 1991, Greg Maddux from 1993-1995, John Smoltz 1996, and Tom Glavine again in 1998. Maddux also won a Cy Young Award with the Cubs in 1992.
3. Which of the following pitchers set a record by winning the Cy Young Award with winning only two games in a season?

4. Which DiMaggio brother led the league in stolen bases?

Answer: Dom

The DiMaggio brothers; Joe, Vince, and Dom were not noted for their speed. Dom led the Boston Red Sox and the league in 1950 by stealing only 15 bases. Dom averaged nine per season, Vince averaged eight, and Joe averaged only two.

Answer: 1

9. The 2009 American League home run crown ended in a tie between Carlos Pena of the Tampa Bay Rays and which New York Yankee?

Answer: Mark Teixeira

Both Pena and Teixeira hit 39 in the 2009 season. It was the second lowest home run total to win a crown in 20 seasons. Teixeira came over from the Angels to the Yankees after the 2008 season.
