Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In "No Place Like Home," where does Sabrina go?

Answer: Paris

It's the beginning of Sabrina's senior year of high school. At first, she is thrilled. Libby has been sent to boarding school (she never appears in seasons four through seven), Harvey bought parking lot passes to a Britney Spears concert for them (so they have to listen to the show from outside, but they get to see her when she leaves), Mr. Kraft is no longer vice principal, and Valerie is planning on living with the Spellmans and sleeping in Sabrina's room. Hilda and Zelda are not happy at all. They know they will miss Sabrina when she goes to college and they will have to live without magic for the entire school year because a mortal will live with them.

Sabrina's father invites her to live with him, Gail, Gail's son, and their dog. They live inside the Eiffel Tower (in this universe, witches can do that somehow). At first, Sabrina rejects the offer because she thinks she will have a great senior year in high school and she does not want to give that up to live in a new place with people she does not know very well. Plus, she does not know the French language or culture. Things change when she gets to school.

At school, she discovers that things are not so great. She discovers that when she learned that Mr. Kraft was not the vice principal anymore, it did not mean that he was gone. He is now the principal. She also learns that Harvey has a friend who has moved to Westbridge and transferred to the school. She meets him, but he is not very nice to her. When she gets home from school, Valerie calls her and tells her that she has decided to stay with her family in Alaska and will not be moving in with her. After all of this bad news, she decides to go to Paris.

Her father's home is quite nice, but she never seems to feel at home there. Plus, he never signed her up for school there. She tells him that he was supposed to attend a Britney Spears concert and he uses his magic to make her appear and perform a private concert for Sabrina in the home. She performs "You Drive Me Crazy," but then she notices that Sabrina does not seem happy. Sabrina says that she is enjoying the concert but does not feel happy in Paris and she tells her about everything that is going on in Westbridge. Britney Spears tells Sabrina that she came to Paris to run away from her problems in Westbridge and that is a bad thing. After Britney Spears gets sent, Sabrina's father tells her that he has to deal with a civil war in Pluto, and while she is still allowed to stay with Gail and her family, he thinks that she'd be happier back in Westbridge. So she goes back there.

Hilda, Zelda, Harvey, and Salem are thrilled that Sabrina is back. Salem admits that he started the civil war in Pluto just so that Sabrina would come back. They throw a big party to celebrate his return. Sabrina goes to the concert with Harvey and when Britney Spears walks out, Harvey is astonished to see that Britney Spears actually knows Sabrina. Mr. Kraft is not happy that Sabrina is back, so she casts a spell on him that makes him dance while "You Drive Me Crazy" plays in the school. The episode ends with a snippet of a music video for "You Drive Me Crazy" which features Sabrina and the other members of the show.

Characters leave the show after almost every season. What makes season four unique is that it explains the departure of two significant characters. Libby and Valerie are gone after season three and the season four premiere gives an explanation for why. The departures of Jenny, Mr. Pool, Albert the quizmaster, Miles, and Josh were never explained. Those are all characters who exited the show after seasons other than season three.
2. What is the name of Sabrina's best friend in season four?

Answer: Dreama

At school, there is a new student who repeatedly bumps into people and makes them drop whatever they are holding. She especially has this problem around Sabrina. She introduces herself as "Dreama" and is friendly to Sabrina, trying to let her know that she does not mean to cause all the trouble that she is causing.

At home, Zelda tells Sabrina that the Witches Council requires her to mentor a young witch student and help the student get her witch license. If Sabrina refuses to do this or fails, she will lose her license. When the witch student arrives, Sabrina is not happy to see that it is Dreama, although Dreama is thrilled to have Sabrina as her tutor. Zelda says that Dreama is a smart and nice girl but she has neglected her magic. Sabrina speaks to Zelda privately and tells her that she cannot mentor Dreama, or Dreama will kill her. Zelda says that Sabrina has no other choice except to lose her license.

At school, Dreama tells Sabrina that the mortal realm is different from the other realm. Sabrina tells her that the main rule of the mortal realm is to not use magic in front of mortals. Dreama sees that Sabrina is trying to become the yearbook editor. Harvey has not been helping her (he has been hanging out with Brad instead of helping her), so Dreama goes to an empty classroom and attempts to facts a spell which she thinks will fill up Sabrina's poster with photos of previous students. Instead, she accidentally summons a boy and a girl from the 1940's.

Dreama begs Sabrina for help while Sabrina is in the middle of class. Sabrina comes up with an excuse for the teacher and gets out of class. Sabrina takes Dreama and the summoned students to the clock shop where Hilda and Zelda now work. Hilda and Zelda have a "lost in time" clock which summons people who made a huge mistake in the past, and when they open the clock, they have to help that person correct his or her mistake or else they will be turned into clocks. The clock summoned a football player. When Sabrina and the others arrive, the football player recognizes the girl as his former girlfriend. The player's big mistake was playing in the game instead of taking her out to dinner for her birthday. He corrects that mistake and gets to go home. The summoned boy gets consoled by Hilda for losing his girlfriend, but he takes it well.

At school, Harvey finally gives Sabrina the old yearbooks and his letter of recommendation. He reveals that Dreama gave him the words he needed to write. The letter says "Sabrina Spellman is the nicest, smartest girl I've ever met. Pick her as yearbook editor and watch her work her magic." Sabrina is now happy with Dreama and she calls her a good friend.

After this episode, we mostly see Sabrina and Dreama hanging out as friends and we do not see Sabrina tutoring Dreama again. The phrase "witch's license" is never mentioned again after this episode. For how much that license was talked about in seasons two and three, we never see any evidence that Sabrina really gained anything once she got it.
3. In "Jealousy," what color do Sabrina's and Zelda's eyes turn (including the parts of their eyes that are normally white)?

Answer: Green

Sabrina is jealous of Harvey because he has Brad to hang out with and she has no same-gender friend to hang out with in the episode because Valerie moved to Alaska and Dreama is not in town (for unexplained reasons). She is also jealous of Brad because everybody says that he is a better writer than she is, including some experts who she brought back to life, such as William Shakespeare, Mark Twain, and Emily Dickinson. This causes her to develop Jealotosis, a disease that witches get when they are overly jealous. The symptom of Jealotosis is that her entire eyes turn green and they emit light, like what Salem calls "the first envy-powered night light."

Zelda tells Sabrina that, to cure Jealotosis, she needs to be happy for the people that she is jealous of. Zelda also says that Sabrina needs to be in school around people who have things that she wants in order for it to run its course. When Sabrina returns to school, she gets madder and madder as she encounters more and more people who have things that she wants. When she sees Mr. Kraft and his brother getting along nicely, she reaches her breaking point and falls unconscious.

While unconscious, she is taken to the Jealous Sea, which looks like the school except it's covered in green water. Salem runs the Jealous Sea and tells her that this place is exactly what Sabrina wanted. It's a place where she has everything and everyone else has nothing. All of her classmates dropped out of school and became janitors. Mr. Kraft has no job, home, food, brother, or girlfriend, and he has no clothes so he has to wear a barrel. Harvey no longer has Brad. Sabrina feels bad for all these people and she realizes that Harvey feels the same way about losing Brad that she did about losing Valerie. After this, she wakes up and leaves the Jealous Sea.

Sabrina realizes that if other people are happy, that does not take away from what she has. Harvey says that he is happy to hear her say that, but he thinks she is saying it because she hit her head on the floor and got a concussion and he tries to take her to the nurse. Before he does, Sabrina stands up on a chair, apologizes to everyone for her behavior, and she tells them all to get good grades and follow their dreams. She then tells Brad that she will publish his article and admits that she had been treating him badly. Then, she says that she will apologize to Mr. Kraft, but Harvey decides that he has heard enough from her and he takes her to the nurse. When Sabrina gets home, she tells her aunts that the article was a big hit. Harvey comes over and tells Sabrina that he just wants to hang out with her for a little while to make up for all the time that he hung out with Brad and not her.

Mr. Kraft's brother comes to visit and takes a liking to Hilda and becomes Hilda's boyfriend. Zelda denies it, but she is clearly jealous of him. Near the end of the episode, she apologizes to Hilda for being jealous. Then, Hilda says that he is taking her to the ballet. Zelda desperately wanted Mr. Kraft to take her to the ballet. Zelda's eyes turn green, and then green dust shoots out of her head, going through the chimney and around the living room. Sabrina tells Zelda that she needs to be the one to ask him to the ballet, not vice versa. Zelda takes Sabrina's advice, and Mr. Kraft falls asleep at the ballet.
4. In "Mom vs. Magic," Hilda and Zelda both conclude that their mother preferred Vesta over both of them. Is this theory confirmed in "Little Orphan Hilda?"

Answer: No

Zelda and Hilda's mother visits them. She praises Hilda's hair but criticizes the way she used to wear it and she also criticizes Hilda for never smiling. She also praises Zelda's PhD but criticizes her for never getting married. They go to the clock shop to get away from her. Sabrina finds a photo of them being happy together on a farm and she zaps the photo to them. When they see it, they fondly remember their time on the farm because their mother was not there and they did not fight with her.

She stays home and shows Sabrina some of the things that she bought for them when they were kids. One of the things she shows them is two yellow dresses. She tells Sabrina that she was proud of them for the attention they got on the streets when they wore those dresses. She also tells Sabrina that she admires them because they always follow their hearts. Sabrina tells her to go to the clock shop to tell them that.

Sabrina's grandmother is stunned when Sabrina tells her that Hilda owns a clock shop. Sabrina's grandmother realizes that this means Hilda gave up the violin. Sabrina tells her that Hilda not only gave up the violin, she blew it up. This makes Sabrina's grandmother zap herself away.

Sabrina goes to the clock shop and tells her aunts that she cannot find her grandmother anywhere. They tell her that she does not know about the clock shop. Sabrina tells them that she told her grandmother about the clock shop and about Hilda blowing up the violin. This makes Hilda mad at Sabrina. The grandmother comes to the clock shop with bills for all the money she spent on violin lessons for Hilda. Hilda calls her a "control freak." She then walks out.

In an attempt to mend Hilda's relationship with her mother, Sabrina finds Hilda's adoption papers and shows them to her. Hilda had no idea that she was adopted. When she learns this, her reflection does not appear in the mirror. Zelda explains that Hilda has lost her identity and will soon disappear unless she can remember her identity. Sabrina goes to the other realm for more information on Hilda's adoption while Zelda looks for her mother to get some answers.

At the Other Realm Adoption Agency, Sabrina learns that Zelda is also adopted. When Sabrina shows Zelda her adoption papers, Zelda also loses her identity and her reflection. She goes to the clock shop and shares the news with Hilda. Sabrina comes to the clock shop and sees that their legs are barely visible. She shows them the dresses that their mother bought for them. When she leaves, they talk to each other about how much they hate the dresses and they use their magic to burn them. They then realize that they were always there for each other when they needed them and they consider themselves sisters, not caring whether or not they are biologically related. Their legs return, their reflections return, and they are cured.

When they get home, Sabrina brings them their biological mother. Their biological mother is indeed the woman whom they always thought was their mother. She explains that Vesta was jealous of all the attention that Hilda and Zelda got when they were all kids, so Vesta turned her and and their father into pigs. They remained pigs for a month. While they were pigs, they could not legally take care of their kids, so they sent them to a farm. She tells them that she and their father were indeed on the farm. They just were not there in human form (they were two of the pigs). When she and their father became human again, they had to legally adopt Hilda and Zelda back into their biological family. Hilda and Zelda are thrilled to learn that when their mother had the choice, she chose to raise them and everyone is happy in the end.
5. What happens to the golden statue of a lion that Sabrina gives to Brad?

Answer: It becomes a real lion

When Sabrina gets a magical credit card, she uses it to buy a lot of stuff, despite her aunts warning her that she will become spoiled rotten. There is a charity at Bean There Brewed That, the coffee shop which makes its first appearance in this episode and becomes an important location for the rest of season four as well as seasons five and six. The charity raises money for and donates stuff to Honduras. Sabrina volunteers there. Zelda suggests that Sabrina give away the stuff she bought with the card, but she has another idea.

Sabrina goes to the attic and takes Hilda's stuff to the charity. What she does not know at first is that these are magical items. She gives Ms. Quick a medal, which makes her competitive and want to raise more money than any other charity. She gives Harvey a hard hat, which makes him talk to women in a way that makes them uncomfortable. She gives Mr. Kraft a box that can replicate anything. She gives Brad a gold lion statue. When Brad takes it home, it turns him into a real lion and Brad becomes scared for his life.
6. What does Sabrina say about Josh at the end of "The Phantom Menace"?

Answer: She has a crush on him

On Halloween, Sabrina gets a job at Bean There Brewed That, a coffee shop owned by a college student named Josh. She knows nothing about making coffee, but when Josh drops a tray with fragile cups and teapots, Sabrina points her finger and makes it end up in her hands. Josh is amazed and says "If you can pour as well as you can catch, you're hired."

Sabrina enjoys her first day on the job. Josh asks Sabrina to work on Halloween by herself while he takes the night off to study for his classes. He tells her that very few people come on Halloween, so her job will be easy. Zelda warns her that she cannot avoid Halloween because she is a witch. Sabrina does not take her aunt's advice and she works on Halloween.

She makes a bad batch of coffee, which makes a customer say "This coffee is so strong, it could wake the dead." She goes out the back door and dumps the whole batch down a sewer grate. Zombies arise from the grate and come into the coffee shop. Sabrina calls home for help. Salem answers the phone and tells her that if she avoids Halloween, Halloween will find her. After doing research on what will happen when Halloween finds her, Salem tells her that she must enjoy the fun of Halloween.

The zombies turn on a stereo which plays Halloween-themed dance music, and they dance to it. They also get a lot of toilet paper and make a huge mess. Sabrina is really sad because she is sure this will get her fired. She asks Harvey and Brad for help, and they all gather the zombies in one area and wrap toilet paper around them. The zombies leave.

Sabrina tries to clean up the place with a spell, but Josh walks in right before she completes the spell. He is shocked, but he decides that it is Halloween and people should have fun. He also realizes that Sabrina was struggling because she was the only employee there. He tells her to turn around while he puts on a scary mask. When she turns back around, she screams, and he takes the mask off and laughs. He also buys her a Tootsie Pop and says that she is not fired.

When Sabrina gets home, Dreama comes up to her room with her (Dreama was at the coffee shop with Sabrina the whole time that the zombies were there). Dreama says that Josh is great. Sabrina says that there is one problem with him. Dreama asks what. Sabrina says that she has a crush on him. That's essentially the end of the episode; there's just one final scene with Salem at the end to wrap it up.
7. In "Prelude to a Kiss," why did Sabrina miss seeing Harvey play in a football game?

Answer: She was helping Josh study

Sabrina has a dilemma. Harvey wants her to watch him play in the football game, but Josh wants her to help him study. Harvey is more important to her (he is her boyfriend and Josh is her boss), but Josh has a more practical need for Sabrina's help (she cannot help Harvey play football but she can help Josh study). She and Dreama come up with a plan. Sabrina goes with Josh and Dreama goes to the game. If Harvey gets in the game, Dreama pages Sabrina (they both have witch pagers) and Sabrina tells Josh that she needs to go to the bathroom, then when she's away from him, she zaps herself into the game.

The problem is, Dreama keeps getting misled. She sees Harvey standing up and drinking from his water bottle, then she sees him running onto the field to get a gum wrapper, and she mistakes those things for him getting in the game. After one too many mistakes, Sabrina turns off her pager. Right after Sabrina leaves the stadium for the last time, the announcer says that Harvey is coming into the game. Harvey stands up, turns around to look for Sabrina, and then runs onto the field feeling disappointed that he does not see her. Harvey scores a TD at the end (but his team still loses badly) and when he goes to the audience to look for Sabrina, he only finds Dreama. Dreama says that Sabrina was sick. Harvey goes to Sabrina's house to check on her, and he sees Sabrina and Josh sharing a kiss. Harvey, feeling hurt, says "You don't look sick to me" and he walks away.
8. Why does Sabrina apply oil of old age to her body?

Answer: To attract Josh

After Harvey sees Sabrina kiss Josh, he dumps her. She asks Josh on a date, but he points out the age difference. To make herself look older, Sabrina checks her magic book and discovers oil of old age. She applies it to her body, then walks into the coffee shop with completely different clothes and hair than she normally has. Josh changes his mind and asks her on a date. Sabrina is so happy with this that she keeps applying oil of old age to her body, thinking it will only make things even better. As she does this, she keeps getting older and older (as you can tell by her changing outfits and hair). However, when she looks in the mirror, all she can see is her regular 18-year-old self. Everybody else sees her the way we do and they think she is under a lot of stress. Salem thinks the stress of high school caused this and Harvey thinks the break-up caused it.

Eventually, she gets so old, no one really recognizes her. Harvey kind of recognizes her at the coffee shop, but he thinks that she is Sabrina's grandmother. He walks her back home to prevent her from falling down on the way. Zelda casts a spell on the mirror so she can see her true reflection. Then she screams. Sabrina explains to Zelda that she applied oil of old age to attract Josh. Zelda tells Sabrina that if Josh does not like her for who she is, then she is not meant to be with him. Zelda then gives Sabrina some magical prune juice and she becomes her 18-year-old self again.
9. "Love Means Having to Say You're Sorry" is the only episode of "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" that focuses on which holiday?

Answer: Thanksgiving

Sabrina misses Harvey so much that she sees his face on Hilda, Zelda, and Salem. It gets worse when he tells her that he is going to have Thanksgiving dinner at his new girlfriend's house. Sabrina had been enjoying Thanksgiving dinner at Harvey's house every year since they met. Hilda and Zelda do not normally celebrate Thanksgiving because it was started by Puritans (who hate witches), but they put their feelings aside and throw a Thanksgiving party for Sabrina to cheer her up.

Hilda and Zelda decide that they are not capable of making Thanksgiving dinner, so they zap in two pilgrims to do it. Hilda and Zelda make hot tea using a microwave, which the pilgrims have never seen before, so the pilgrims conclude that Hilda and Zelda are witches and they tie them up. When the pilgrims demand that Hilda and Zelda admit that they are witches, Hilda admits it and uses their magic to set them free, which scares the pilgrims. They agree to make Thanksgiving dinner on the condition that the witches do not turn them into toads.

Sabrina walks into the house and asks to speak to Hilda and Zelda away from the pilgrims. She then asks them to take her to the clock shop. Hilda and Zelda leave Salem in charge of the pilgrims. Salem says that he is the most powerful witch in the world and he uses their fear of him to make him cook what he wants. However, he pushes them too far and they tell him to turn them into toads, preferring that fate over the way he was treating him. They then find out that Salem does not have magic and they tie him up. Hilda and Zelda walk in and see that. To stop the pilgrims from quitting, Hilda zaps in a horse and agree to give the Puritans whatever they want.

Sabrina spends most of the episode unsuccessfully trying various magic ways to get Harvey back. Near the end of the episode, she apologizes to Harvey for the kiss. Then they take turns apologizing for every mistake they made. When they are done, they share a hug and kiss. Sabrina invites Harvey for Thanksgiving dinner. He is surprised because he knows her aunts don't cook Thanksgiving dinner, but he accepts. He thinks the pilgrims are caterers. At the end of the episode, the witches convince the pilgrims to dance.
10. Brad is a what?

Answer: Witch hunter

When Brad, Harvey's best friend who used to live in Texas, transfers to Westbridge High School, Harvey is excited to introduce Brad and Sabrina to each other. However, whenever Sabrina gets close to Brad, Brad tries to avoid her as much as possible. He might give a meek "Hello," but that's it. One day, he follows Sabrina to the clock shop. Hilda and Zelda sense that something is wrong. Hilda zaps in two objects that look like small canes. Apparently, those things detect witch hunters and they determine that Brad is a witch hunter.

Hilda and Zelda explain that a tiny number of mortals are born with a witch-hunting gene. This means that they naturally feel uncomfortable around witches, even when they are not using magic. As long as the witches do not use magic, they are in no real danger because the witch hunter will not really know that they are witches. If a witch casts a spell around a witch hunter and he figures it out, he will say "You're a witch." If a witch hunter says those words, the witch will be turned into a mouse for 100 years. The witch hunter does not know that he has this gene or this power. The effectiveness of the witch-hunting gene depends on weather conditions. The colder the weather, the more powerful it is.

In "Ice Station Sabrina," Harvey has a surprise for Sabrina, which he reveals in the coffee shop. The surprise is that they will be going skiing. They will stay in a cabin owned by his parents. Harvey mentions that Brad lent his skis to him, but he says that Brad will not be there. Sabrina accepts. After this conversation ends, Sabrina sees a girl drop a mug filled with hot coffee. Before it hits the floor, Sabrina casts a spell that makes the mug end up in the hand of the boy who was next to him. The boy thinks that it is a bouncy floorboard. Unfortunately, Brad is in the coffee shop at the time and he accuses Sabrina of doing something. Harvey tells him that Sabrina is on the other side of the room.

On the day of the trip, Harvey reveals that Brad will be driving them to the cabin and then driving home. Brad sacrificed a date with his girlfriend to do this, so Harvey says that Brad is an amazing friend. Sabrina feels unsafe, so she talks with her aunts. They watch the witch weather channel and discover that Brad's witch-hunting gene will be dormant for the next three days unless there is a big change in the weather. They send Salem to go on the trip in case the weather changes. Zelda says that cats are extra-sensitive to weather changes and Hilda adds that by doing this, she and Zelda get rid of him for the weekend.

In the car, Sabrina fixes the radio while the witch-hunting gene is dormant. Brad smiles and appreciates her for doing that. A short while later, she fixes the heater. Salem fell asleep and failed to warn her in time about the weather change and the subsequent activation of the witch-hunting gene. Brad gets so angry about the sparks flying out of Sabrina's finger that he takes his eyes off the road (he was looking at Sabrina) and crashes the car.

Sabrina, Harvey, and Brad walk away from the car to look for help. They find a fire tower. They climb it, hoping to find a ranger who can help them. They do not see the sign that says "Condemned, unsafe, keep off." The trap door ends up getting stuck, so they get trapped on top of the fire tower. They yell for help, but there is no one around. They find a radio, which Sabrina eventually gets to work, but the only person they can reach is a kid who does not help them.

Eventually, the fire tower collapses. Just before it does, Sabrina casts a spell which makes everyone land safely. She decided that even if she gets turned into a mouse, at least her friends will be safe. Brad is confused as to how they are okay after falling 50 feet. He then talks about everything he saw (Sabrina fixing his car radio and heater with just her finger, Salem talking, and them surviving the fall). He then says "I know what you are. Sabrina Spellman, you're a..." but Sabrina's aunts show up just in time and they cast a spell (from inside Brad's stepfather's car, so Brad does not see them) that erases his memory, so he forgets what he is going to say. Brad's stepfather takes Brad, Hilda, and Zelda home in his car while Harvey and Sabrina continue their journey up to the cabin in Brad's car, which is now fixed (Sabrina probably used her magic to fix it because Brad was not around). When Harvey says he does not know where the cabin is, Sabrina zaps in a navigator in the glove compartment. When Harvey says that he cannot believe Brad forgot he had that, Sabrina says to Harvey that "Brad is weird" and the episode ends.
