Maggie Q is the actress portraying the protagonist Detective Renée Ballard in the American police procedural "Ballard" in which she takes over the unit dealing with cold cases for Los Angeles Police Department. The series is a spinoff of "Bosch" (2014-2021) and its sequel "Bosch: Legacy" (2022-2025). Maggie Q also appeared as Ballard in the Season 3 finale of "Bosch: Legacy".

Based on the book series "Department Q" by Danish writer Jussi Adler-Olsen, the British crime thriller series "Dept. Q" premiered on Netflix in May 2025. The TV series is set in Edinburgh, Scotland rather than book's Copenhagen. "Pluribus" is an Apple TV post-apocalyptic sci-fi series set in New Mexico. It premiered in November 2025. The human population has been transformed into a happiness-focussed hive mind by an alien virus, leaving a few isolated people with immunity. The immune are nevertheless at risk of assimilation. The series follows author, and one of the few immune, Carol Sturka (portrayed by Rhea Seehorn) as she navigates her new environment.

Set in Roman times and in an alternate time line since the character Ashur died in the previous series, "Spartacus: House of Ashur" is a spin-off series for the "Spartacus" series (2010-2013). The new series premiered on Starz in December 2025. The main focus is gladiatorial contests and the background goings-on.

The Netflix series "The Abandons" is an American Western drama which premiered in December 2025. Set in the 1850s, a conflict arises between two families, one of European aristocracy and the other made up from orphans, that ultimately revolves around land. The series stars Lena Headey and Gillian Anderson as matriarchs of the two families.

Premiering on Netflix in November 2025, "The Beast in Me" is an American psychological thriller. An author (portrayed by Claire Danes), recovering from the death of her young son, is persuaded to write a book about her new neighbour who is believed by some to have killed his wife. More deaths occur as she seeks the truth.

HBO's "The Company Chair" premiered in October 2025. It is an American comedy thriller where a workplace incident leads the victim to investigate and then discover a conspiracy. This is a showcase for the comedian Tim Robinson who with Zach Kanin created the series. They had previously worked together in such series as "The Detroiters" (2017-2018) and "I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson" (2019-2023).

The award-winning American medical procedural drama "The Pitt" premiered on Max (now HBO Max) in January 2025. The series covers a gruelling 15-hour shift in the Emergency Department at a fictional hospital, with each episode covering about an hour of the shift. It has been praised for its realistic portrayal of the post-pandemic medical scene.

Fitting into the satirical cringe comedy niche, the Apple TV series "The Studio" premiered in March 2025. Seth Rogan is Matt Remick, the newly-appointed head of Continental Studios in Hollywood. The series showcases his struggles to produce quality films with narcissistic actors and corporate demands. Plenty of celebrity cameos and praise from the industry for the series.
