Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Lemmy's Swingback Castle

The Castle that appears at the end of the Acorn Plains, the first World Mario faces in the game, belongs to Lemmy, whose multi-coloured mohawk makes him stand out from his fellow Koopalings. After navigating through a lava-filled Castle atop swinging platforms, Mario will have to advance to Lemmy's ship and follow through on the typical battle plan of jumping on the boss' head three times. Lemmy will, however, make this a bit trickier by not only balancing on a ball for most of the battle, but by tossing bombs at Mario whenever he can.
2. Morton's Compactor Castle

The idea of this being a 'Compactor' Castle comes from the fact that many of the obstacles Mario will encounter here are out to crush him, generally because navigating the level involves moving around on massive stone blocks that shift into one another to create narrow spots of safe travel. At the end, however, Mario will find Morton on his airship and the Koopaling will use his abilities to pull massive Pokeys from the ground, sending their segments hurtling towards him. Three hits and Morton is done, and this can be accomplished without seeing more than one Pokey if your timing is right.

This Castle is at the end of the Layer-Cake Desert.
3. Larry's Torpedo Castle

You probably won't be surprised coming into Larry's Torpedo Castle, the third Castle of the game, to find that it's themed around swimming and riding the waves, especially since it comes at the end of the Sparkling Waters World. Here, Mario will have to hop onto water geysers, avoid getting burnt by fire jets, and swim to dodge torpedoes throughout the course.

Then, in the battle with Larry, the goal is to avoid getting swept away by the geysers while jumping on him enough times to put the nautical fight to an end.
4. Wendy's Shifting Castle

This final stage of World 4 (or 3, if you complete it instead of/before Sparkling Waters), Wendy's Shifting Castle is an icy fort of rotating platforms and Thwomps of all sizes. Wendy, at the end, is quite unique as her airship contains massive icicles that she'll dislodge with her round projectiles. All the while, if she drops these from the ceiling, she'll be skating around on a very slippery floor.

A warm reception of three hits is all it'll take, and this might actually be easier if you have a Fire Flower handy.
5. The Mighty Cannonship

Technically the first level you'll come to in World 5 (Soda Jungle), The Mighty Cannonship appears on a massive tree trunk stuck between Castles 3 and 4 and will arrive when you pass through upon completing one of those Worlds. Here, after navigating the outer deck and the water-logged inner hold of the ship, you'll face Bowser Jr. in a submersible Clown Car, using his own torpedoes against him to finish out the fight and drain the room. Completing this battle doesn't mean the end for Bowser Jr. in any case; he'll come back later.
6. Iggy's Volcanic Castle

If you've noticed the difficulty of Castles increasing by this point you're probably not alone. Iggy's Volcanic Castle provides what its name suggests-- a lava-filled Castle setting where wave after wave of molten-hot death washes over the platforms at regular intervals as Mario makes his way through.

At the end, Iggy Koopa makes the most complicated boss fight yet, shooting off magic spells that create massive lava enemies, fighting from the ceiling, and spinning in unique, new patterns to disorient you.
7. Roy's Conveyor Castle

Roy's Conveyor Castle is quite unique compared to the other Castles encountered thus far because in order to get full completion in it (ie. all the Star Coins), you'll have to go into both entrances-- the front, and one created into the rear via red platforms from Screwtop Tower's exit. Roy himself waits at the end of a Castle that creates platforms from falling, metal blocks (in lava), and the final battle against him, involving a cannon of Bullet Bills, involves a handful of floating platforms in the sky.
8. Ludwig's Clockwork Castle

Another mechanically-inclined Castle for Mario to face, this one features large, scrolling platforms that move left and right to convey him from place to place. The issue is that these platforms do not care if Mario gets squished between them and a wall, and that'll be one of the main hazards (aside from the enemies) that he'll encounter.

At the end, Ludwig himself will fight by floating into the air, splitting into three, and shooting spells. Mario needs to identify the correct Koopa, hit him three times, and end the fight.
9. Boarding the Airship

Though the Castle level of Meringue Clouds (Ludwig's Clockwork Castle) seems like a good stopping point for World 7, there's still one level to go: Boarding the Airship. This one brings back Bowser Jr., forcing Mario to get onboard the Bowser Airship while it uses its Mecha-Hand to destroy the environment.

At the end of it, a second fight with Bowser Jr. and the Koopa Clown Car ensues, and after that, he'll accidentally destroy the ship altogether, leading the way into a Bowser-fied Peach's Castle.
10. The Final Battle

The last face-off of the game (even though you may visit some more levels in Superstar Road if you've collected your Star Coins), The Final Battle includes the final ascent to the ramparts of Peach's Castle where Mario faces Bowser not once, as his normal self, but a second time, during with Bowser is enlarged to a massive size.

The key to this fight is using Bowser Jr. to your advantage. By forcing him out of his Koopa Clown Car, you can use that to bring a damaging smash to Bowser from above. Three of these ends the fight.
