Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Every third consecutive Basic Attack against the same enemy player within 2.5 seconds deals percentage-based damage to their health bar.

Answer: Vermis

The description of this one is definitely a bit wordy, and should be hashed over slowly a few times before committing to it. The "third consecutive" aspect is the main conundrum. Essentially, this means that the player must hit the same foe three times, within 2.5 seconds, and they must only hit this foe, and no other foe, over this time. Doing this will activate the effect.

It is worth noting that Revenant, a carry who attacks at a fixed attack speed which the player cannot raise, literally cannot make use of this effect. Even if his target stands perfectly still and allows Revenant to shoot them, he simply cannot fire his gun three times in 2.5 seconds. As such, while other Carry characters can consider Vermis, Revenant definitely should not.
2. Gain added Omni-Vamp per each 5% missing health. This bonus briefly doubles upon killing an enemy player.

Answer: Marrow

Marrow can be truly devastating in the hands of tanky characters which can heal themselves, such as Akeron, Rampage or Khaimera. It will make them even harder to brawl down, as they will heal for more and more the more damage they take.
3. Damaging an enemy player beneath 30% of their health automatically fires projectiles at them that each deal True damage and apply On-Hit effects.

Answer: Weald

A personal favorite of mine for damage dealing roles, Weald is a terrifyingly efficient way to close a fight. The missiles fired travel endlessly and pierce terrain, so they are impossible to flee from. Zinx and Weald are basically a match made in heaven, but Serath, Yin and anyone else building On-Hit and attack speed can make great use of Weald as well.
4. Mark the last enemy damaged by your Basic Attack, and in doing so, increase all damage dealt to them and reduce damage received from them for several seconds.

Answer: Thraex

This is the most user-friendly Eternal in the game. It is as simple as it sounds to both comprehend and to activate. It is perfect for basically any Carry in the game since they're mostly Basic Attack focused.
5. Damage an enemy player to gain Doom momentarily. Doom grants Physical Power, Magical Power, Physical Armor and Magical Armor every three seconds the player stays in combat. Stats are increased either on killing an enemy player or levelling up.

Answer: Nihil

Nihil is an Eternal with high potential but is frustratingly difficult to wield. Opponents can see that you have Nihil in your build and, on doing so, are going to want to avoid lengthy combat, which is not really something the Nihil user can do much about. That said, tanky characters such as Sevarog, Steel or Greystone would make the best users of Nihil, given that they can easily survive long enough to accumulate many stacks of Doom.

It is worth noting that the defensive benefits given by Nihil are completely countered by True damage. Thus, if struggling with enemies such as Crunch, Serath, Neon or Adele who do a lot of True damage, Nihil is not the best choice.
6. Gain increased max health and gain bonus size equal to a small amount of your max health.

Answer: Krix

This Eternal is noteworthy for having forced Omeda Studios' hand in adjusting a wholescale game mechanic. Players with Krix would build so much HP into their builds that their character model would literally be too big to fit through fog walls and other key aspects of a map. Sevarog, in particular, can easily clear 10,000 max health in an average match.

As such, there is a hard cap on how big a player can make their character.
7. While above 30% max health, gain increased Armors. Falling below 30% max health grants a shield, and this shield's value is based on your Armors.

Answer: Idrisil

My personal favorite for tanks, Idrisil is fantastic during both ideal and not so ideal situations. The increased Armors are incredible, and the emergency shield given when reaching 30% health can be a life saver. It is absolutely perfect for any character who has any reason to believe they will need to frontline for their team or take a lot of hits in general.
8. Attacks against enemy players apply a stack of Rust for several seconds. Each stack shreds Armors. You gain a large portion of the Armors shredded.

Answer: Knell

Knell is fantastic for characters who attack quickly. Khaimera is a standout choice, as he can extremely quickly dial up Rust stacks on his ambushed targets and, because he is a Fighter who anticipates closed quarters combat, he greatly benefits from the Armors received to let him handle the retaliation he is bound to receive. Any Jungler fighting in close quarters can make use of Knell, really, with the exact same rationale.
9. Damaging an enemy player with an Ability deals a percent-based amount of their max health in damage as a damage over time.

Answer: Vesh

One of the most spammed Eternals in the game, Vesh is perfect for anyone who mainly leans on their Abilities to deal damage. This opens it up to basically any Mage, but melee fighters can use it effectively as well. Zarus will really appreciate the added weight behind his thrown Spears of Nyr, as they will pressure his laning opponent much more efficiently with Vesh.
10. Permanently gain bonus damage each ten Units killed.

Answer: Xyris

Of course, a minion counts as a 'Unit', so Xyris is fantastic for characters with effective wave clear. It is not the best for Junglers, as their waves are less condensed in quantity and instead have bigger minions for a larger payout on kill. Shinbi would be a good choice for Xyris, when used in the Offlane (or Midlane, I suppose) as she is not terribly strong early game, generally needs to reach the late game to be threatening, and when she does this, she will then also have at least a dozen or so Xyris stacks to supplement her further.
11. Healing or Shielding a target, including yourself, grants the target added Attack Speed and empowers their Basic Attacks.

Answer: Exarch

This is the most straightforward Eternal for any support character wielding a lot of healing, like Narbash, Maco or Muriel. It is pretty much exclusively for support characters despite including a self-benefitting effect.
12. Every two minutes and every kill or assist you record, you randomly receive a bonus to damage output, ability haste, movement speed or max health.

Answer: Lotus

All of the above are perfectly well suited for anyone seeking to deal damage. As such, Lotus is mainly for people who appreciate the random, chaotic nature of this Eternal. Like Xyris, it becomes significantly stronger as the game goes on and on.
13. Decrease your size slightly. On casting an Ability, enemy players standing nearby are debuffed, causing them to deal less damage for several seconds.

Answer: Pilow

This Eternal is for close quarters characters due to needing to be close to activate the main effect. It could be wielded effectively by just about any Fighter or Tank in the game, be it a damage dealer like Aurora or Kwang, or a support who likes to get in the enemy's face like Steel or Riktor.
14. Increase stats gained from items and damage dealt by item effects.

Answer: Demiurge

Demiurge is quite possibly *the* late game Eternal. It does literally nothing right from the start of the match, since the player cannot have any items by that point. As the player accumulates items, Demiurge's effect grows stronger and stronger. Of course, since the player cannot have more than six items, Demiurge will run into a 'cap'.

However, this is still extremely powerful and has devastating potential.
15. Casting an Ability grants passive mana regeneration for several seconds. All abilities grant gold equal to a small portion of damage dealt to enemy players.

Answer: Aion

This Eternal is somewhat of an oddball. It is clearly meant for people who lean mainly on Abilities. However, it provides no direct damage bonus, while Vesh does, leaving Vesh heavily favored as a result. Mana regeneration is not a problem past the early game for most characters anyway. Aion could be explored if the player wanted to drop some mana regen from their build to make way for something else.

Otherwise, and even then, Vesh is almost always superior. The only character who may argue this point is Argus, and that's just because Argus has the most notoriously extreme rate of mana consumption in the entire game.
16. Kills or assists grant a stack of Fearless. With each stack, your max health is reduced, but your Physical Power, Magical Power and Attack Speed receive major gains. All Fearless stacks are lost on death.

Answer: Satariel

This is the ultimate glass cannon Eternal, and is well suited for confident players who are experienced and maintain smart positioning and general self awareness. The consequence of losing max health cannot be understated, as it can bring players into the point where even minions will do a number to them, and enemy players will delete them from existence just for laying a hand on them. That volatile damage output goes both ways however, as a player who accumulates multiple stacks of Fearless can easily proceed to take the game over on their relentless, peerless, overwhelming damage output.
