Answer: Forest of Fallen Giants

The Memory itself is behind a locked King's gate. When the player finds the King's gate for the first time very, very early on in their playthrough, they will not be able to open it. In order to bypass the King's gate, the player must briefly equip the King's Ring and then approach the gate.

Answer: Captain Drummond

Captain Drummond must first have his dialogue exhausted in the Memory of Vanmar where he is first met. Once this is done, he can be summoned for Giant Lord. If the player summons him and he survives the fight, they can later talk to him at the Memory of Vanmar and he will reward them with his armor set.

Answer: Zero

It is possible to summon one of the two NPCs, between Benhart of Jugo and Captain Drummond. When the player summons one, the summon sign for the other disappears. However, even if the player avoids summoning either entirely, it is not possible to summon another player for help with this boss.

Players can actually summon one another in other Memory areas, so there isn't precedent or anything to pinpoint a reason multiplayer play is impossible for this fight.

Answer: Dark

With a stupendous 60% Dark weakness, Hex builds are going to eat well in this fight. In particular, the Dark Fog Hex will poison Giant Lord surprisingly quickly and, since he is a giant, it will be easy casting the fog cloud atop him.

Curiously, despite having their origins largely rooted (no pun intended) with trees and forests, no giant in this game is actually weak to Fire. None of them strongly resist Fire, but for being creatures formerly made of wood, it is surprising nonetheless.

As well, while Giant Lord is not formally weak to Lightning, since he is a giant, the player can get more value than usual from the Heavenly Thunder or, to an extent, the Blinding Bolt miracles. Thus, it may not be inaccurate to technically suggest these spells are 'strong' against him.

Answer: Revenge

Originally, Vendrick essentially began the war informally. According to Captain Drummond, Vendrick pillaged the land of the giants first and stole a great deal of power from them in doing so, power he would use to essentially create his own giants. This, naturally, angered the actual giants into counter-raiding Drangleic.

The player goes back in time when they access Memory of Jeigh, and where they end up is amidst the giants on their revenge tour.

Answer: One hit point

If a mortar shell collides with the player, they will take a ton of damage, anywhere from about 700-1000 points depending on their armor and other stats. Giant Lord, however, will take exactly one point of damage if he is struck by anything other than the player or their NPC summon. This was likely From Software's defense against the player just letting the environment kill Giant Lord.

Answer: Nashandra

The "Throne Duo" as they're called are available as soon as the player gets the King's Ring. However, the player can't fight the game's final boss, Nashandra, if they don't have the Giant's Kinship.

Answer: Repel

On cast, Repel will spawn a small dark sphere around the player that will protect them from damage of any kind, completely, for exactly a second and a half.

It is rather amusing that a boss so utterly weak to Dark as Giant Lord's soul turns into a Hex.

Answer: Bonfire Ascetic

Right before making it to Giant Lord, there is a corpse to the left hand side atop a small stony platform with a Bonfire Ascetic. Loot which spawns off of corpses is respawned when the player uses a Bonfire Ascetic, meaning this Ascetic essentially feeds into itself.

Because of this, the player can respawn Giant Lord endlessly. He is an end game boss, gives generous souls when slain and his boss room is fairly small, so the player can reach him quickly. This makes farming Giant Lord the best souls farm in the entire game by far, perfect for if the player wants to level up a lot and quickly.

Answer: Ring of Giants

The Ring of Giants gives the player added poise, making it more difficult for enemies to interrupt them when they try to attack. The version received through this fight is +2, the strongest of its kind. Notably however, this ring has well above average weight for a ring, which can situationally make it harder properly fitting it in on the tanky builds it was clearly made for.
