Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Grace Ashcroft's mother, Alyssa, was which of these by profession?

Answer: Reporter

Grace Ashcroft, a young but top-notch technical analyst for the FBI Midwest Field Office, is asked to head to the Wrenwood Hotel to investigate the discovery of another body in a chain of disturbing cases, all of which involve survivors of the Raccoon City incident many years ago. . Another body exhibiting the same things as the others. The catch is that the Wrenwood Hotel happens to hold an important place in Grace's memory as it was the location that she last saw her mother before she was murdered, and she was with her when it happened.

Proceeding to the crime scene, Grace is led to follow in her mother's footsteps, determining what was left behind for her to find in the wake of the attack and subsequent fire. History seems to repeat itself, somewhat, as while Grace finds Alyssa's satchel and the disc of evidence inside, she's attacked by a police officer who, having been 'stung' by something, will transform into an infected host. Grace will end up getting bit, but survive the encounter and be led onward to a hidden upper floor room in the hotel. The man inside appears to be waiting for her, and he'll refer to her as 'the chosen one' before knocking her unconscious.
2. Leon Kennedy, in this game, works for what organization?

Answer: DSO

In nearby Elbridge, Leon Kennedy arrives on the scene as a representative of the Division of Security Operations to find another body, like the others, exhibiting bruising and physical traits in line with the serial murders and, confirmedly, they're a survivor of Raccoon City. It all points to a new lead, a former t-Virus researcher by the name of Victor Gideon, who's also indicated to have purchased the Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center in the region.

Leon will be directed to Wrenwood to look at the same hotel that Grace stepped back into, following up on the missing police officer, but he'll arrive just in time to find Gideon carrying Grace off through the city streets. A pursuit will follow, but Gideon will complicate the trail by sparking a zombie outbreak, injecting several passers-by with viral syringes to turn them into infected hosts. Leon should be able to dispatch them and proceed onward, but it's revealed that he, infected by Umbrella at some point, is also running out of time.
3. Upon meeting Grace at the Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Facility, Leon will hand her which of these?

Answer: Gun

Grace will awaken in a hospital bed, hooked to an IV, strapped in, upside down, while her blood is extracted into a large jar. She'll free herself to determine that she's being kept in a hospital ward and she needs to find a way out, especially as a Code 6 is called and the building goes into a panic. What results will be a dark and terrifying attempt to escape that results in a lumbering, inhuman creature pursuing her through the halls.

Leon, meanwhile, arrives at Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Facility and arrives just in time for the same Code 6 to be declared. He'll cut his way through rapidly-changing individuals only to stumble upon Grace herself, saving her life from the creature in the hallway. He'll hand off his gun, the Requiem, while encountering Victor Gideon.

It'll leave Grace to explore the Care Facility herself, finding that the place is much more grim and concerning than the exterior would lead one to believe. It starts with finding a young, blind girl (named Emily) locked into a futuristic cell behind the guard room. The adjacent cell-- one she claims belonged to another girl named Marie-- sits empty, and a doctor, nearly dead on the floor, tells her to stay away at all costs.
4. In order to escape the Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center, Grace needs to locate three of which of these, slotting them into the courtyard door in the building's lobby?

Answer: Quartzes

What Grace will discover as she navigates the labyrinthine halls of the Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center is a door, placed at the mezzanine level of the facility, that opens out into a courtyard, and it'll become immediately clear that this is the key destination to reach. The catch is that escaping via this route requires three cubes be slotted into their designated spots, each bearing a specific design and each being hidden in the building. What this means is that she'll need to navigate the admin offices of the West Wing (for the Moon Quartz), the labs of the East Wing (for the Sun Quartz) and the Isolation Ward (for the Star Quartz).

Along the way, Grace will keep running into Dr. Victor Gideon who, since he runs the center, follows through on his plans without letting a missing Grace get in the way. This said, he encounters her a few times, remarking on his having liberated her, and that she's not like other people. In fact, through her, Elpis can finally be set free. What Elpis is remains a mystery.

Grace will need to find three ID bracelets to access all parts of the facility and accomplish what she needs, eventually freeing Emily and using her to help access the last Quartz. Unfortunately, the creature from earlier, known only as 'The Girl', will return, nab Emily, and pull her deeper beneath the facility, into the basement blood chambers. Grace will have no choice but to pursue.
5. While Grace manages to find her way into the basement of the Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center, Leon will be taken where, needing to find his own way out of captivity?

Answer: The attic

Leon, having been captured by Victor Gideon, awakens in the attic, tied to a chair, being interrogated by the villain. Fortunately, Leon is able to break free of his bindings in time to fight back, leading to a larger battle against a bigger foe as he tries to get back down into the Care Center proper. Leon's mission here is to navigate his way to Victor Gideon's office on the third floor, a part of the facility that was previously unreachable for Grace, as it should contain the classified files that bear the answers he needs.

In a room only accessible via secret elevator behind a false wall, Leon will reach the terminal containing the necessary files, and he'll relay that back to Sherry Birkin in the DSO offices. Remotely, she'll find the correct info about the t-Virus mutation...and it won't be good. While both of their infections continue to spread, they'll find little more than mentions of 'Elpis' and strong indications that Grace has a lot to do with the ongoing events.

Grace, meanwhile, will descend into the basements of the Chronic Care Center to find not only a series of prison cells, but machinery designed to extract human blood. It quickly becomes clear not only that she'll need to dodge numerous foes in different states of living and dead, but get her hands on power cells that will grant her access to Emily's cell. They'll narrowly escape, barely getting free of 'The Girl', with the final Quartz in hand.
6. As Grace escapes Rhodes Hill, she'll find which of these waiting, unexpectedly, outside?

Answer: Helicopter

As Grace escapes the Care Center things will seem to be on the safe side, but the reality is more dire. On one hand, Emily's health will start to rapidly deteriorate. The pair will come across an unexpected helicopter in the clearing next to a VIP Suite, but the pilot, Harry, will be missing his keys, his boss having taken them into the facility next to them. Grace will need to head inside, determine how to get into the laboratories beneath the office there, and grab them to make a break for it.

What she finds underground is more terrifying than what she's encountered thus far-- massive machines and bodies being used for more complex experimentation-- and Dr. Gideon, announcing that he's accomplished his goal, will set a self-destruct sequence on all of it. He and his contact still need to find Grace, but Elpis will soon be in their hands.

Grace will manage to get back to the surface while the facility is destroyed, narrowly making it back to the helicopter, but due to an encroaching zombie horde, the chopper will only remain airborne for so long, crashing in a clearing next to the nearby chapel and forcing Grace to carry Emily and head out on foot.

Leon, from the top floor of the Care Center, will see the whole thing unfold, grab a rifle, and proceed to help from afar, shooting Grace's pursuers while she tries to break into the presumed sanctuary of the chapel. What follows will be the briefest of reunions.
7. Who engages in an unexpected battle against 'The Girl' in the Water Treatment Plant?

Answer: Grace

While Leon takes on a new foe called the Blister Borne in the Rhodes Hill Chapel, Grace will descend into the Water Treatment Plant next door, placing Emily somewhere safe before pulling in her supplies for a final fight against 'The Girl'. Though it's clear that she needs to open the roof panels to let in the sun (as sunrise has just occurred), she'll also need to descend deeper into the room to activate a trio of Power Distribution units, each in different corners of the Sedimentation tunnels. When she does this and opens fire on 'The Girl', the foe will liquify in the daylight.

When Grace returns to the other room, she'll find that not only has Emily succumbed to her illness, but she's started to transform into another grotesque being. She'll refrain from fighting back, but Leon will return, at last, to bring her down in her stead. Grace, shocked and distraught, will give back the Requiem and depart alone. She won't notice as Leon coughs up blood, succumbing to the t-Virus more and more.

Back on the surface, Grace is met by Victor Gideon and a new face, an unfamiliar man (to her) who indicates that she is the reason for Raccoon City's destruction. This said, she's the key to rebuilding a brave, new world. They head to the waiting helicopter and depart.

Leon, meanwhile, drives off to Raccoon City while Sherry tries to dig into the mystery behind Elpis. They need to find Grace.
8. Which of these classic boss foes (or variants thereof) does Leon not encounter in Raccoon City?

Answer: Nemesis

Parking on a cleared road in East Raccoon City, Leon will move on foot shortly after, heading into the city streets and the buildings around a central encampment determined to be a temporary BSAA base. The goal, to begin, is to search the nearby rooftops to get pieces to construct a Detonator, necessary for blowing up the gate in the city's perimeter wall. Getting this will prove difficult though; Raccoon City isn't in a good way. In addition to fighting a giant Spider and a mix of BSAA zombies and blistered infected in the Cedarvale Apartments and adjacent (collapsed) towers, Leon will hop onboard a motorcycle and cross through to Raccoon City Center, encountering a rocket launcher-toting Victor Gideon and his hungry canines.

All of this will lead to a stroll down memory lane as Leon returns to the Raccoon City Police Department building where he'll locate Grace and Zeno chatting in an East Wing office. Elpis, as Zeno will explain, was the last virus created by Spencer, devised to control human consciousness. Missiles were launched to hide it and Grace is the key to retrieving it. Grace, as it turns out, isn't quite unlike Emily. In fact, Emily and numerous other girls were copies of Grace, crafted to duplicate her to unlock Elpis' abilities. They needed her, and only her, all along.

While Grace tackles this revelation, Leon reveals himself, spurring Zeno to let loose the familiar Tyrant T-501 (Mr. X). It leads to a battle en route to the Raccoon City Orphanage where Leon, if he survives, can dip into a nearby ravine, fight the mutated Plant 43, and find the entrance to the ARK Facility-- his and Grace's final destination.
9. Zeno seeks the answer to one question to unlock Elpis: 'What does the creator desire?' What is that answer?

Answer: Hope

Leon enters the ARK facility in pursuit of Leon and Zeno and will be met not only by strong Umbrella forces, but also the B.O.W. creations residing in the test chambers. Despite his infection being a debilitating factor at this point, he'll push through to the 'Pandora' chamber of the labs to reach Grace and Zeno, arriving just as Grace is prompted with the question she's supposed to know the answer to-- 'What does the creator desire?'. A wrong answer means that the ARK will be destroyed, and Elpis will be lost forever. Before she can deduce what the answer is, Leon and Zeno will clash, and both Leon and Grace will subsequently escape by descending lower into the facility.

The pair will need to split up to escape and reunite. While Grace heads through the archives to clear a path, Leon will find a way back to Pandora on his own, reaching the door as the infection overwhelms him. Grace will discover the answer was with her all along, hidden on the disc she retrieved from Wrenwood Hotel, containing the final video interviews her mother held with Ozwell Spencer.

As Grace discovers, Ozwell Spencer knew his research unleashed chaos on the planet and he held regret, even for Elpis, named after the Goddess of Hope. He admits that he was wrong to pursue his work as he calls a quick end to the discussion. Alyssa is present, however, as a child is brought in-- a child he refers to as his own hope. He named the child Grace. As for the rest, he said his piece and he hopes it serves as a requiem for those who have passed.

Grace will finally reunite with Leon before heading back into the Pandora chamber to approach the Elpis terminal, and there they'll be faced with a choice. If Grace chooses to destroy Elpis, per Leon's suggestion, she'll type in the password 'DESTRUCTION' and Zeno will fight back, forcing Leon to send Grace to safety while he is felled in his last battle. But if Grace decides to release Elpis, Zeno will allow Leon to live. She'll type in the password, 'HOPE' and Zeno will inject himself with Elpis only to discover that it's an antiviral. All virus-based weapons will be useless. While she can, Leon injects Leon with Elpis and brings him back to his normal self.
10. Who is the final foe you face in combat in "Resident Evil: Requiem"?

Answer: Victor Gideon

It's not over once Leon is cured of his t-Virus infection as Victor Gideon, having survived his last encounter back on the highway to Raccoon City Center, will return. Though Zeno will be shocked that Elpis did the opposite of what he hoped, Victor Gideon will praise Ozwell Spencer's effort as a key to anarchy. Manifesting a dangerous tentacle arm, he'll decapitate Zeno, injure Grace, and claim the vials of antiviral serum for himself, setting about the destruction of ARK. And the only one who can stop him is Leon.

What will result is one last, lengthy battle, first against a rapidly-mutating Victor Gideon, then against the foe in his fully-fledged Nemesis form. But if Leon can destroy all of its weak points, he can move in with his hatchet and the take a few last shots with the Requiem to bring an end to this nightmare. He'll find Grace in the wake of the battle and, when it seems like there's no way out of the ARK, they'll be collected in due time by Chris Redfield's men from the BSAA.

In the days to follow, the largest source of illegal bioweapons in the world, hidden below Raccoon City, will be shut down and the Justice Department will reopen investigations into the now-defunct Umbrella Corporation and Ozwell Spencer. Alyssa Ashcroft will be cited as the person who cracked the mystery wide open.

Months later, Grace will check in with Leon, confirming that he and Sherry are both fully cured by Elpis. Emily, as was discovered, was not killed when Leon shot her in the Water Treatment Plant, and she too will be cured of the affliction and left in Grace's care.

With the ARK facility cleared out, no one will realize that the remaining BSAA agents stationed there are neutralized. Someone collects what they need there before Redfield sends in 'the wolves'. Perhaps it's not over after all.
