Answer: Hancho

Perhaps you've heard of the term "head honcho"? Honcho is the English version of the Japanese word "hancho". In Japanese, "han" means "squad" and "cho" means "chief". The other terms refer to yes, thank you, and a lover of things like anime and manga.
2. Russian: If you had a "samovar," what would you do with it?

Answer: Boil water

The official Russian name is "самовар," but it is known as samovar. It's popular in Russia, Asia, and the Middle East and translated to "self broiler". You would use a samovar to heat up water to the point of boiling and rest your tea cup on top of it.
3. Which Yiddish word means "extreme confidence"?

Answer: Chutzpah

Chutzpah means audacity, self-confidence to the point of even being "too much" and disregarding other's opinion. A man could be described as having a lot of chutzpah. The Yiddish word term could be used in a positive vein for someone who takes charge but could also be seen as a negative overpowering quality.

Answer: argent

"Argent" is a masculine noun in French. If you look at the first few letters, you'll see "Ag," which is the periodic table symbol for silver, one definition of argent. The French word can also be used to describe money. In French, you'll often see it written as "de l'argent".

The name originated in the 14th century during the time of the Black Plague and visitors were isolated from coming into Croatia, which was under Venetian rule, for forty days.
7. The name of the state Florida comes from a Spanish word regarding what?

Answer: Flower

The Spanish word, "florido," means "full of flowers" and was used by Ponce De Leon in 1513. The oldest city in the United States, St. Augustine in Florida, was discovered by the Spanish explorer and his men. He named the area "La Pascua Florida," which meant "Flowery Easter". The Easter term came from the fact that their discovery of Florida happened during the Easter season.
8. If you sang a song in Ireland and the crowd reacted with a "bualadh bos," is this is a positive or negative thing?

Answer: Positive

At first glance, it looks like it ends with "boos", a sound of derision from the crowd. But actually the term "bualadh bos" is Irish for a round of applause. The literal translation is "striking palms" as in clapping.

If you tried to pronounce it, your first instinct would be to say "cheetah" and you'd be right! "Chita" is a Hindi word that was originally from a Sanskit word that translates to "spotted one". The English word "cheetah" was derived from chita. While the world's fastest cat is primarily in Africa, some were brought to India and transplanted into the wild.

Answer: Coffee

The term "coffee" comes from the Arabic word "qahwa." Each of the other words has Greek origins. A marathon is not only a 26.2 mile race, it's the name of an ancient city in Greece. Orchestra comes from the Greek word "orkhēstra," which stood for the area in front of a stage where a chorus would be placed. Metropolis comes from the combination of two Greek words, "meter" meaning "mother" and "polis" meaning "city".
