Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which beautiful "Moonstruck" star was married to Sonny Bono?

Answer: Cher

Every time I think of Sonny and Cher I start singing, "The Beat Goes On". I used to watch their variety show and laugh at the 'nose' jokes and the 'short' jokes. They seemed like the perfect couple... but as in show business, you never really know. Sonny and Cher had only one child, Chastity Bono. I won't touch that story here. Sonny and Cher divorced in the 70s and Sonny went into politics while Cher still performs and acts.

I was lucky enough to see Cher in concert at the Mirage in Las Vegas in the 1990's. That woman has class and can flaunt it so gracefully!
2. Was Twiggy a model in the 1930s?

Answer: No

Twiggy was the hottest model around in the 60s. She was from England and was known for her short pixie style of hair and adorable thin body that could don a mini skirt and sell it like hot cakes.

She tried her luck at television and movies and even posed on some album covers.

Twiggy, known as Lesley Hornby became an official Dame in 2019. When I saw Twiggy I always thought of her as tall and slender. Yet now I realize, she's only 5' 6". Same as me.
3. "Purple Rain" make you think of a celebrity. Which one?

Answer: Prince

I saw Prince in concert in Las Vegas a few years back. The man had an amazing demeanor about him. He could sing and dance and he didn't do such a bad job acting either. Prince left this planet a little too early in 2016 at the very young age of 57. I can't think of one other person that was known as a number versus a name, but luckily his "symbol" was short lived and he became our Prince again.
4. Liberace was known for his extravagant outfits and played the cello beautifully.

Answer: False

Liberace was not known for playing the cello but the piano, with fingers covered with rings. Liberace was born in Wisconsin. Not a lot of people realize that Liberace was a twin. His twin didn't make it past birth and we were blessed that Liberace did. Liberace comes from a very musical family.

If you have time and a little wad of cash, you can see the Liberace Museum in Las Vegas. I won't forget watching Liberace on television singing weekly, "I'll be Seeing You" at the end of his show.
5. Which talk show host was also a star of the movie, "The Color Purple"?

Answer: Oprah

Just think back to a hospital room in 1954. Little did anyone know that this baby would come to be one of the most influential people in the World! Oprah has struck gold in everything she touches. She is a talk show host, not just "a talk show host" but THE one!

She went on to play the character of Sofia in the movie "The Color Purple" and was nominated for an Academy Award for her first movie role!

She has inspired us with her Book Club and she is one of the richest, if not the richest women in the world. A hero and a person to admire, in my opinion!
6. This celebrity also goes by the name of Gordon Sumner. Who is this?

Answer: Sting

Sting was the lead singer for the group, The Police. He performed with the group for 7 years until he went on his own in 1985. I think it's amazing when a person can play one instrument, but Sting can play numerous, including the saxophone, keyboards and guitar. Sting has also won over 15 Grammys! He has been nominated for at least four Oscars for Best Song, including "The Empty Chair" in 2016.
7. You can "cuchi-cuchi" around this American Spanish actress and singer. Who is this singer, 'supposedly" born on March 13, 1951?

Answer: Charo

Anyone who has ever seen "The Love Boat" will remember this blonde adorable character. She can roll her R's like no one else can! She could make you smile and blush with her antics.

Charo was born in Spain, but loved America so much that she became a citizen later. Now one thing you can't ask her, is her age. This has been 'misplaced' and she doesn't say. Records show different dates with close to 10 years difference. Who cares if she wants to be younger? She's still got it no matter how old she is.

And guess what? I saw her years ago in Hawaii too.
8. I can rap, But I don't know how to bake, You can call me Aubrey, But you better call me ________. Who is this Rapper?

Answer: Drake

Aubrey Graham goes by his middle name of Drake. Drake rose to fame in the television show, "Degrassi: The Next Generation". Drake is not short of lists of accomplishments though. He's been in movies, "Anchorman 2", television shows, and has Grammys and a lot of other music awards.

This Canadian rapper has only touched a portion of accomplishments. I see much more in the future for Drake.
9. I started my movie career in "Desperately Seeking Susan" with Rosanna Arquette. What is the one word name of this Material Girl?

Answer: Madonna

Don't get her confused with the Beatles, "Lady Madonna". I'm not saying she's not a lady, but trouble and controversial items follow her and have for years. Michael Jackson was the King of POP and Madonna is known as the Queen of POP. She was born in Michigan in 1958. I recall watching her on MTV singing "Material Girl" and "Like a Virgin" back in the 80s. She went on to become an actress and did a great job as Evita in the movie of the same name in 1996.

I once said that she was the smartest businesswoman ever. She created styles and people would flock to stores to dress like Madonna. Some call her disgusting, but I call her smart! She knew what would sell and years later, she's still a hot seller and still selling records. She is a smart "Material Girl".
10. I am a hunk of a man. I was born in Italy. I was in the movie "Zoolander". Is my name Fabian?

Answer: No

It's Fabio Lanzoni, aka long flowing hair, gorgeous hunk Fabio! Fabio had many small roles in the movies and in most of them he's just portraying himself. "Zoolander" and "Spy Hard" are just a couple. Fabio also acted as himself in television shows and in music videos. His specialty was fashion though and he does have that.

Now Fabian was our 50/60's boy. He was a wholesome American boy who sang and acted and became a teen idol with songs like, "Tiger" and "Hound Dog Man". Not to be confused with another one word name, Elvis, and "You Ain't Nothing Like a Hound Dog".
