Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Where was Julia born?

Answer: New York City, New York

Julia Elizabeth Scarlett was born in New York City, New York in the borough of Manhattan on the 13th of January 1961. She spent her early years in New York City, Maryland and Washington, DC. Julia's parents divorced when she was young and both remarried. She considers herself lucky to have four parents.
2. Julia has something in common with Paris Hilton. They are both heiresses.

Answer: True

Paris is the heiress to the Hilton Hotel chain. Julia is the daughter of the French billionaire, Gerard Louis-Dreyfus. Julia, along with Paris Hilton were chosen by Forbes magazine in 2006 as one of the 10 Hottest Billionaire Heiresses.
3. Julia had a guest starring voice role on what animated television series?

Answer: The Simpsons

Julia played Snake's girlfriend Gloria on an episode of "The Simpsons" in December 2001. This episode was called "A Hunka Hunka Burns in Love". In this episode, Mr. Burns fell in love with a traffic cop who gave him a ticket.
He had previously received a fortune cookie with the note "You will find true love on Flag Day" (written by Homer). Mr. Burns asked Gloria to marry him and she said yes, but realized she preferred Snake's bad ways.
4. Name her famous husband that she married in 1987.

Answer: Brad Hall

Julia married Brad Hall in 1987 and they have had two children together (Charles and Henry). They were also the only married couple to perform on "Saturday Night Live" during the 1980s. Julia was on "Saturday Night Live" from 1982-1985. Brad has been involved on "SNL" from 1981-2006.
5. Julia had a recurring guest starring role on what television series after "Seinfeld" ended?

Answer: Arrested Development

Julia played a horrible prosecutor named Maggie Lizer in "Arrested Development". The show aired from 2003 to 2006. This show was one of the funniest, quirkiest shows on television. It starred Jason Bateman, Jeffrey Tambor, Jessica Walter and Portia de Rossi to name a few. The comedy show was about a formerly wealthy, dysfunctional family. I was surprised when it was cancelled.
6. Julia was the first woman to come back as a host of "Saturday Night Live" after being a member of the cast.

Answer: True

Julia hosted "Saturday Night Live" on May 13, 2006. This made her the first former female cast member to return as host. Gilda Radner would have been the first but there was a writers' strike in 1987-1988.

The joy of the opening monologue included cast mates, Jerry Seinfeld and Jason Alexander where they talked about the "Seinfeld Curse". The "Seinfeld Curse" is a term used against actors who are typecast for playing the same character.
Both Jason Alexander (George) and Michael Richards (Kramer) had failing shows after the end of "Seinfeld".
7. Julia was nominated with Marcia Cross, Felicity Huffman, Mary Louise Parker and America Ferrera for what award in 2007?

Answer: Golden Globe

Julia was nominated with these very talented ladies for the Golden Globe in 2007 for "The New Adventures of Old Christine". In this show, Julia played Christine Campbell, a divorced mother and the owner of a women's only gym.

Julia has been nominated for a Razzie. A Razzie is the opposite of an Oscar - and the worst performance went to Alicia Silverstone for "Batman and Robin" (1997) instead of Julia's performance in "Father's Day" (1997).

Julia lost the Golden Globe in 2007 to America Ferrera of "Ugly Betty".
Julia won the Golden Globe in 1994 for Best Supporting Actress in a TV production for "Seinfeld".

Julia has won Emmys for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for "Seinfeld" in 1996 and for Best Actress in a Comedy Series for "The New Adventures of Old Christine" in 2006. She added those award to her "Screen Actors Guild" Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Comedy Series for "Seinfeld".
8. In the "Seinfeld" episode "The Contest", Elaine was the winner.

Answer: False

Elaine was not the winner of "The Contest" airing in 1992. We thought George was the winner of "The Contest". We found out in the final episode in 1998 that George cheated so Jerry was determined to be the winner.

The funny thing about this episode was that no one really said what the contest was about. Of course, we knew Elaine was out of the contest because of "John-John" aka John F. Kennedy Jr.
9. Julia provided her voice for what computer animated film in 1998?

Answer: A Bug's Life

Julia played Princess Atta in "A Bug's Life" (1998). This movie was about a misfit ant played by Dave Foley who wanted to save his colony from the grasshoppers. The head grasshopper, Hopper was played by Kevin Spacey.

Julia was not in "Toy Story" (1995), "The Incredibles" (2004) or "Finding Nemo" (2003).
10. Julia was also the producer of three episodes of one of her series. Can you name that series?

Answer: Watching Ellie

Julia produced three episodes of "Watching Ellie" in 2003. This show was on for sixteen episodes before it was cancelled. The show was created for Julia by her husband Brad Hall. The show was about the life of cabaret singer Ellie Riggs. The first season was done in real-time. There was a clock in the corner of the screen that displayed the time used within the 22 minutes of the episode. This did not last long. After being put on hiatus, the show came back looking like a traditional sitcom however, the show did not last very long.
