Answer: Harry Potter and the Philosopher's (Sorcerer's) Stone

This book was the first one in the series of books by J K Rowling about the wizard, Harry Potter, and his battles with the evil Voldemort. It had slightly different titles in the United Kingdom and the United States, so I've given you both options. Mr and Mrs Dursley are his uncle and aunt, who are 'muggles', which means they are not magicians, and they do their best to prevent Harry going to Hogwarts School to learn how to become a proper wizard.

Answer: Ballet Shoes

Noel Streatfeild's 'Ballet Shoes' (1936) tells the story of three sisters named Petrova, Pauline and Posy Fossil. While Petrova isn't interested in performing on stage and Pauline prefers acting, Posy Fossil is an aspiring ballet dancer. All three sisters were adopted and Posy's birth mother was a dancer as well, which probably explains why Posy joined the family as a baby accompanied by a pair of ballet shoes.
