Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is a Swedish meatball?

Answer: Something to eat

Swedish meatballs, unlike Italian meatballs, do not rely so heavily on spaghetti. Often made in a cream sauce they can even be a main course. My uncle Lars is really dumb. He once brought binoculars to a funeral because it was for a distant relative!
2. What is a Plutocrat?

Answer: A rich guy

Pluto comes from the Greek Ploutos meaning wealth. Pluto was a Roman God. When I was younger I used to look like a Greek God. Now I just look like a Greek.
3. What on earth is witch hazel?

Answer: A shrub

Witch hazel is also a mild astringent made from the shrub. Speaking of mother-in-laws, my mother-in-law is so ugly that she has to tiptoe up to her mirror!
4. What is a Plectrum?

Answer: A guitar pick

Plectrum comes from the Greek for "spur". I'm proud to say the I learned to play the guitar by ear. Boy are my ears sore!
5. Who or what are "Flying Buttresses"?

Answer: Arches

Flying buttresses are used as supporting arches in buildings.
6. Who or what is a Scarlet Pimpernel?

Answer: Both

The Scarlet Pimpernel flower is a member of the Primrose family. It is also the nom de plume of the hero of Baroness Orczy's famed novel of the same name (made into a movie starring Leslie Howard). If my name was the Scarlet Pimpernel I'd be dashing too. (dashing outta town!)
7. A Roman Catholic Nun (who later committed suicide) once had a Number One hit on the U.S Top 40.

Answer: True

"Dominique" by Sister Luc-Gabrielle (The Singing Nun) was #1 for 4 weeks in 1963.
8. What is Vegemite?

Answer: Australian food

Vegemite is a reddish brown to black colored, salty flavored yeast extract which is very high in vitamin B. It is very popular in Australia as a bread spread. I am told that Vegemite is Ozzz2002's favorite snack. (He even puts it on Spam)!
9. Who was B.B. Hickenlooper?

Answer: A United States Senator

Bourke B. Hickenlooper was a senator from the State of Iowa from 1944 through 1969.
10. A song entitled "Nee Nee Na Na Na Na Nu Nu" by Dickie Doo and the Don'ts made the U.S. top forty in 1958.

Answer: True

Only a real moron would spend good money to buy that record! By the way, If you don't believe such a record exists, I can prove it because I've got it right here in my collection. Oops!
