1. The first leg of my journey around the world takes me to where the largest frog resides. I am in West Africa and I am told the name of this frog is the Goliath frog. There is something unusual about this frog. Can you tell me what it is?

Answer: The Goliath frog is mute

Goliath frogs don't have a vocal sac and are mute. Frogs aren't able to give you warts and I've not heard a frog whistle. There are blue frogs, but the Goliath frog is greenish with a yellowish-orange underside.
2. After seeing the world's largest frog, I now travel to Colombia to see the world's most poisonous frog. Its poison, batrachotoxin, can kill many small animals or humans. Can you identify the binominal nomenclature of this frog?

Answer: Phyllobates terribilis

Golden poison arrow frog (Phyllobates terribilis): Common green and golden bell frog (Litoria aurea): European tree frog (Hyla arborea): Corroboree frog Pseudophryne corroboree: Arrow frogs are not poisonous in captivity. Scientists believe that the arrow frogs get their poison from the insects they eat.
3. While I have been leap frogging around the world I have picked up some new ideas. I have been told I can "frog a sweater". If I am "frogging a sweater", what am I doing?

Answer: Recycling an old sweater for the wool

Sometimes the wool in sweaters is just too beautiful to throw away.
4. During my journey through America I travelled to Hollywood and looked at the stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. I noticed Kermit the frog had a Star and I wondered on which show Kermit debuted. What was the name of the show?

Answer: Sam and Friends

The first appearance of Kermit was in 1955 on "Sam and Friends". He was one of the original Muppet characters on "Sesame Street" which aired on Nov.10 1969 and on Sept.27, 1976 "The Muppet Show" went to air with Kermit as the central character. Kermit was also a main character on "Muppets Tonight".
5. Whilst I have been travelling around Europe I have been wandering through its wonderful castles and they have reminded me of a story that I was told during my childhood. The story was "The Frog Prince" but I am not sure who wrote it. Who wrote "The Frog Prince"?

Answer: The Brothers Grimm

The Grimm Brothers published a book of German fairy tales in 1812. They collected anecdotes from peasants and villagers. They are among the best known story tellers from Europe. Some of their other published works include Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and Hansel and Gretel.
6. In the story "The Frog Prince", it is said that the Princess did something to the frog to change him into a Prince. Can you tell me the final act the Princess did to change the frog into a Prince?

Answer: The Princess picked the frog up and threw him against the wall.

In the original story "The Frog Prince", by the Brothers Grimm, the Princess violently threw the frog against the wall. It was a common way of undoing shapeshifting magic (when a person or an animal has been magically changed into a different form or shape).

It is not clear when the idea of kissing the frog entered into the story, but it is believed that it was done to try to make the Princess more likeable.
7. I have been travelling through France when I see a frog on a lily pad. How do I say frog in French?

Answer: Grenouille

Lyagushka-(lya-GOOSH-ka) is Russian for frog, Ranocchio is Italian and der Frosch is German.
8. During my travels through China, I was fascinated to see all the frogs around me. People were wearing them and they were beautiful and decorative. Do you know what I was looking at?

Answer: Buttons

Chinese frogs are knotted and looped buttons, closures, or embellishments usually made from cording or small pieces of fabric.
Chinese frogs close a garment whilst giving it decoration at the same time. The garments are usually of oriental design, with a mandarin collar. They will often have Chinese frogs on the shoulder and down the front to hold the garment closed.
9. I have crossed oceans and travelled through the continents and now I am in Australia. I was driving on the streets of Sydney listening to the radio when I was very surprised to hear a song called "Cicada" from the album "Frogstomp". I didn't hear the name of who sang this song? Who was the artist?

Answer: Silverchair

Silverchair are one of the most successful Australian bands. All the members of the band were born in Newcastle in 1979. "Frogstomp" was their debut album in 1994 and it sold more than 2.5 million copies throughout the world.

Answer: A part of a bench plane

at the proper angle. The frog has screws to adjust the depth and adjust the
