Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Misnamed in both the TV show and the model, this ZOID features twin Buster Rifles that aren't really rifles at all. Which ZOID is this?

Answer: Berserk Fuhrer

The Berserk Fuhrer was misnamed the Berserk Fury, possibly because the word "Fuhrer" might be identified by some people as meaning Hitler. The Buster Rifles mentioned are actually its Charged Particle Cannons, though "Buster Rifle" is the technical term for them.
2. Misnamed in both the show and the model, the Japanese version called it an aquatic mammal while the dubbed version called it a type of fish. Neither was correct. What type of media did its Japanese name refer to?

Answer: A book

The ZOID in question is the Wardick/Warshark. The name Wardick refers to Moby Dick, the white whale of a novel of the same name. The Wardick is actually a Coelocanth, which is a prehistoric fish. Unfortunately, the Coelocanth was not carnivorous and cannot be called a shark, as the name "Warshark" hints.
3. Since some words are considered by children to be "bad words", one ZOID model's name was changed, but the show didn't follow suit. Yet strangely another ZOID that had the same word in its name wasn't changed for its model. Which ZOID's name remained the same?

Answer: Hel Digunner

Since "Hell" is often considered a "bad word", Hasbro didn't want to cause any problems by having a ZOID named the Helcat. They changed it to the Atak Kat for the sake of the model. The Hel Digunner, however, wasn't changed.
4. A complete mistake on Hasbro's part, one of their action figures was advertised as something it wasn't. Which action figure was made completely wrong?

Answer: Liger Zero Panzer

The name "Sinker" was changed to "Sea Striker", but the Liger Zero Panzer wasn't a Panzer at all! It was, in fact, a Liger Zero Jager painted green. Was it a mistake? Or was it a deliberate attempt to save money?
5. In "New Century/0", this ZOID was yellow. In "Chaotic Century" and "Guardian Force", this ZOID was seen as red or black (depending on whose it was). The latter is actually a different ZOID, yet was named the same. What non-standard weapon is equipped to the black version of this ZOID?

Answer: Hiblit Vulcan Cannon

The yellow version was correctly named the Zaberfang, but the red and black versions seen in "Chaotic Century" and "Guardian Force", owned by Raven and Karl respectively, were also called the Zaberfang. They are, however, stronger versions of the Zaberfang.

The name of this ZOID is the Severe Tiger. Karl Schwarz has a Hiblit Vulcan Cannon as a modification weapon on both of his ZOIDs, a Severe Tiger and an Iron Kong MkII.
6. Not misnamed but misspelled in the model version, this ZOID is a very versatile and common ZOID in the Helic Republic, though it's most often used as a method of holding back invading forces by staying underground until called up. Throughout all the "ZOIDs" versions (including the Helic/Zenebas war), what color has this ZOID not been seen in?

Answer: Black

The ZOID in question, the Guysack, was misspelled the Gusak. A member of the Arcobareno Gang had a blue Guysack, Stinger had a red one, and the standard color is brown. A black Guysack, however, ceases to be called a Guysack and takes on the name Evil Scorpion.

The misspelling, however, was only on the name of the ZOID. If you look at the back of the box at its stats, it'll spell the name correctly.
7. Which of these does not belong?

Answer: Metalrhimos

All of these except the Metalrhimos were misnamed in the model. The Hammerhead was called the Sledge Head, the Spinosapper the Spinosnapper, and the Salamander was called the Pteramander. The Metalrhimos is a variant on the Black Rhimos platform, but as the Black Rhimos was also released, the Metalrhimos was not misnamed.
8. How was the Raynos misnamed?

Answer: It wasn't misnamed

Out of four flying ZOIDs in the first and second set, only the Raynos and Redler weren't misnamed.
9. This ZOID is similar in design to several others, yet though its brethren are some of the largest ZOIDs in existance, this one isn't even as tall as an Iron Kong. How was this ZOID misnamed?

Answer: Brachiosaur

The Brachios, misnamed the Brachiosaur, is similar in design to the Giant Zrk, the Battlesaurus, and the Ultrasaurus. However, the Brachios is smaller, bulkier, and is a one-person ZOID. Its cockpit is located not in the head by in the back, behind the head. This causes some problems for the pilot since the cockpit is so close to the Core.
10. Out of the first and second sets of "ZOIDs" models, how many total ZOIDs were misnamed?

Answer: 11

The Atak Kat (Helcat), Venomous Viper (Stealth Viper), Ptera Striker (Pteras), Warshark (Wardick), Spinosnapper (Spinosapper), Sledge Head (Hammerhead), Brachiosaur (Brachios), Gun Blaster (Gunbluster), Pteramander (Salamander), Berserk Fury (Berserk Fuhrer), and Gordosaur (Gordos).
