Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. We first meet the adult Ben Hanscom on the night of May 28th, 1985 in a Nebraska bar called The Red Wheel. He asks the bartender, Ricky Lee, for a beer stein filled with whiskey. Which brand does Ricky Lee pour?

Answer: Wild Turkey

Ricky Lee gives him Wild Turkey, although the "house whiskey" is Four Roses. Ben manages to drink it all by utilizing an old Indian trick he learned while in Peru - he squirts raw lemon juice into his nostril. The idea is that you're so concerned with your nose, you don't even notice how badly the liquor burns.
2. In "Derry: The First Interlude", Mike Hanlon writes of the explosion of the Ironworks, which happened on Easter Sunday in 1906. What was the death toll?

Answer: 102

Eight children and one adult were never accounted for. Puts a damper on holiday spirit, doesn't it?
3. The young Eddie Kasbrak sometimes goes to the trainyards when he can find no one to play with. Two years before our story begins, he had been standing near a rail line when a drunken trainman had thrown a crate of lobsters to him. Which rail line did that man work for?

Answer: Southern Seacoast

Eddie had been afraid of the lobsters, but the man had instructed him to bring them home to his mother and Eddie was very obedient when it came to his Ma. He refused to eat any lobster that night, however, to his mother's chagrin.
4. Once back in Derry, the adult Bill wanders the streets for awhile before pausing at the grate where his brother George met his end in 1957. He is approached by a little boy with a popsicle and a skateboard. What color is the skateboard?

Answer: Fluorescent Green

Bill offers the kid a quarter to let him ride his skateboard, but chickens out at the last minute. He also warns the boy to stay away from sewers and drains.
5. Which of these Losers do we know is left handed?

Answer: Mike

We learn this after Henry Bowers breaks Eddie's arm. The Losers come to the hospital to visit him, and Mike's signature on his cast looks awkward because he was left handed and the angle was wrong for him. This is an important chapter, because it also portrays Eddie standing up to his domineering mother for the first time.

Beverly is also left-handed.
6. Which Derry "old-timer" told Mike Hanlon the story of Claude Heroux and the Silver Dollar bar?

Answer: Egbert Thoroughgood

Although Mike did speak with all of these people at one time or another, it was Mr. Thoroughgood who told him this particular story - a rather chilling account of a man going on a bloody rampage virtually unnoticed by the rest of the bar's patrons. Creepy.
7. As adults, all of the Losers, save Mike, take rooms at the Derry Townhouse. Which room does Beverly receive?

Answer: 518

We learn this from a memo Pennywise sends to Henry Bowers after his escape from Juniper Hills. Bill is room 311; Ben, 404; Eddie, 609; Bev, 518; and Richie, 217. I always thought it was odd that none of them were put on the same floor.
8. What was the name of the man who sold Bill and Richie the molds for the silver bearings?

Answer: Carl Kitchener

Carl Kitchener is, of course, descendant of those who owned the Kitchener Ironworks, which exploded on Easter Sunday of 1906, ending that particular cycle of It.
9. After escaping from Juniper Hills, Henry Bowers gets a ride from an old pal - Belch Huggins, who died in the sewers in August of 1958. What kind of car is Belch driving?

Answer: 1958 Plymouth Fury

It was Henry's father's dream car - no wonder it was the car the dead boy managed to procure for Henry's return to Derry. The Plymouth Fury also makes an appearance in Christine.
10. After the Losers defeated It for the last time, Bill's wife Audra remained catatonic. Bill, deeply in love with his wife despite his childhood feelings for Beverly, had one shot to bring her back. He must once again "beat the devil." Which road does he manage this on?

Answer: Main Street

Silver has never failed him - as he races down Main Street Hill, Audra comes back to him. So in the end, everyone who lives manages to live happily ever after.
