Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Okay. Okay. I'm going to freak right out."

Answer: Once Upon A Time In Mexico

Johnny, as corrupt CIA agent Sands, mumbles this line to himself as he walks down the streets of Mexico. His plan to kill a drug lord called Barillo is falling apart.
This film continues the story of hitman El Mariachi, played by Antonio Banderas. He is brought out of retirement by Agent Sands, in an attempt to interfere with an assassination plot against the Mexican president, and a coup by one of el presidente's generals.
2. "Churns it up. Makes it light. Frothy."

Answer: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Shortly after entering the Chocolate Room (and again on the boat ride), Willy Wonka explains to his visitors why a chocolate waterfall is *the* best method for mixing chocolate. Willy Wonka is an eccentric chocolatier who invites five children to his factory.

There is a special prize for the child who makes it through to the end of the factory tour without being "lost" along the way, by falling prey to their own vices.
3. "It's not my tree."

Answer: Benny and Joon

Sam and Joon are introduced to one another after Joon "wins" Sam by losing a poker game. This is Sam's response to Joon's observation, "You're out of your tree." She isn't referring to his mental status, although the observation does serve as the perfect double entendre.

She is referring to Sam no longer being in the actual tree where she had first spotted him, when she and Benny drove to a friend's house for poker night. Joon has a mental illness, and Sam is illiterate and rather zany. This film is the story of how they come to find that they belong together.
4. "I wanna be a good person."

Answer: What's Eating Gilbert Grape

This is Gilbert's reply when Becky asks him what he wants. He is so busy taking care of his family, since his father's death, that he hasn't ever given thought to what he wants in life.
This film follows the life and times of Gilbert as he cares for his mentally ill brother, Arnie. As Gilbert, Johnny Depp portrays the oldest boy in a very dysfunctional family, which includes a mother who weighs over 500 pounds and hasn't left their home in years.
5. "Why do you think that Don Octavio de Flores is Dr. Mickler?"

Answer: Don Juan Demarco

A troubled young man, believing he is Don Juan, prepares to attempt suicide because he cannot be with the woman he loves. Dr. Mickler, a psychiatrist, pretends to be Don Octavio in an attempt to prevent the suicide. The doctor takes "Don Juan" to a hospital to be treated for mental illness for ten days.
Bill, another psychiatrist at the hospital, attempts a counselling session with "Don Juan." Bill asks "Don Juan" why be thinks Dr. Mickler is Don Octavio de Flores.
Johnny Depp plays Don Juan Demarco, and Marlon Brando plays Dr. Mickler. This film follows the progress of Don Juan's ten days in hospital and Dr. Mickler's attempt to cure him of his delusions. In the end, Don Juan convinces the doctor that he really is Don Juan...and teaches the doctor how to love.
6. "You got it raw!"

Answer: Cry-Baby

This is Cry-Baby's way of telling his love interest, Allison, that she's got what it takes to be a Cry-Baby Girl. "Cry-Baby" is a spoof of films like "Grease." The story is about a good girl who defies her square roots when she falls for a bad-boy Drape, named Cry-Baby Walker.
7. "Have a look at my treasure chest."

Answer: Chocolat

You'd think this is a quote from a pirate movie; but it is, in fact, a quote from Johnny as the lovely Irish vagabond, Roux. At this moment in the film, he is replying to Vianne's daughter, Anouk. Roux refers to himself as a 'river rat', and Anouk asks him if a 'river rat' is anything like a pirate.

He tells her the two are similar and offers her a look at his "treasure chest": an old bucket. "Chocolat" is the story of Vianne (portrayed by Juliette Binoche) who opens a chocolate shop in a morally uptight village in France, then faces ostracism by the townspeople because she is too worldly.
8. "...and that was the end of the boy, James."

Answer: Finding Neverland

J.M. Barrie (Depp) tells Sylvia (Kate Winslet) of the time he dressed in the clothing of his deceased brother, David, in a failed attempt to comfort his mother after David's death. The trauma during his childhood may explain why Barrie was interested in the notion of perpetual childhood; he himself had to grow up too fast.
"Finding Neverland" is a somewhat fictionalized account of how J.M. Barrie came to write "Peter Pan", based on his time with the Llewellyn-Davies family.
9. "Do you often make a habit of sitting on strange men's beds?"

Answer: Sleepy Hollow

While Ichabod is in his room, Katrina enters and seats herself on his bed for a chat. This makes him terribly nervous and awkward.
Ichabod is an investigator who is sent to Sleepy Hollow to solve the mystery of the Headless Horseman, who is terrorizing the town by beheading a number of the townspeople. Katrina is a local who becomes quite attached to Ichabod.
10. "Come on, you filthy, slimy, mangy cur."

Answer: Pirates of the Caribbean

Captain Jack Sparrow, imprisoned, tries to sweet-talk the resident dog into bringing him the keys to the jail cell. He was imprisoned by the Crown for piracy, but he escapes.
The film chronicles Captain Jack's attempts to reclaim his ship, the Black Pearl, that was taken from him some time ago in a mutiny. The Pearl is in the control of a crew of undead, led by Barbossa (portrayed by Geoffrey Rush). Barbossa and crew became cursed after stealing the Aztec gold of Cortez from the Isle de Muerta. They must now return the gold in order to have the curse lifted.
