They carved the Rio Grande out of the sand with a stick and created the painted desert after scaring the war paint off a band of Indians.

"Little Toot" was a children's book written by Hardie Gramatky before it was made into a short movie. He was a tugboat that wanted to tug a ship, but was too small. When he tried to help his father tug a ship, Little Toot caused the boat to beach itself.

He was taken twelve miles out to the ocean. While out there, he saw a boat that needed help. Little Toot sent an SOS message and got help for the ship before it sank. Little Toot was hailed a hero and brought back to work with the other tugboats.

The Andrew Sisters performed the short movie, "Little Toot".

Sluefoot Sue and Pecos Bill fell in love, but Widowmaker was jealous. On the day Bill and Sue were to marry, Widowmaker was supposed to carry Sue to Bill. Because of his jealousy, Widowmaker bucked Sue off and Sue's bustle kept her bouncing into the air.

When Bill tried to rope her and pull her down, Widowmaker kept the rope from reaching Sue. She continued bouncing until she disappeared onto the moon. The coyotes joined Bill as he howled at the full moon every night. After Bill died, the coyotes continued to howl at the full moon.

Buddy Clark was the opening narrator for the movie and was the voice of the theater mask that sang the opening song. The theater mask and his back up singing theater masks came to life after being painted on a canvas. They sang the opening tune, "Melody Time" before opening the curtain for the rest of movie.

Along the way, Johnny planted appleseeds as he travelled and planted seeds until the day he died. Dennis Day narrated the story as a close friend of John Chapman.
