In "The Legend of Johnny Appleseed", John Chapman imagined himself going west after seeing a wagon train pass by his home while he was picking apples. His guardian angel told him there was no reason he couldn't travel out west so Johnny took a pan for cooking, a bag of appleseeds, and his Bible for reading. Along the way, Johnny planted appleseeds as he travelled and planted seeds until the day he died. Dennis Day narrated the story as a close friend of John Chapman.
