He was subsequently extradited to Israel where he was sentenced to 15 months in prison for a number of earlier crimes committed there, including fraud, theft and forgery. He only served five months of that sentence as he was released for good behaviour following a Covid-19 initiative to release non-dangerous prisoners and free up space in Israeli prisons.
