Many people think 'Blue Christmas' was first recorded by Elvis Presley, but in 1949, eight years before Elvis made it his own, it was Ernest Tubb that made it a hit.

This was written by a Nashville songwriter Curly Putman in 1965 and many others covered it but in 1967 Tom Jones really made it a great hit. 'Green, Green Grass Of Home' is a story of a prisoner to be executed and is thinking of home. Beautiful song but just so sad!
