1. The Moody Blues

'Nights in White Satin' is a single by the British band The Moody Blues, who formed in Birmingham, England, in May 1964. They were originally part of the British rhythm and blues scene.

On the UK Singles Chart, it originally peaked at number 19 in 1968, then climbed to number nine during its 1972 reissue. It also reached number two on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in 1972 and hit number one on the Cashbox chart, and it topped the charts in the Netherlands. Other singles of theirs are 'Voices in the Sky', 'Question' and 'Isn't Life Strange'.
2. Los Bravos

'Black Is Black' was recorded by the Spanish band Los Bravos. They formed in 1965 on the island of Majorca (Mallorca), Spain, though the band was later based in Madrid. They emerged from a fusion of two earlier groups, Los Sonor from Madrid and The Runaways from Mallorca, whose members met in a nightclub in Cala Major.

It peaked at number two on the UK Singles Chart in 1966 and reached number four on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. It was also a number one hit in Canada. Some other singles of theirs are 'Los Chicos Con Las Chicas', 'Bring a Little Lovin'', 'Going Nowhere' and 'I Don't Care'.
3. Peter Sarstedt

'Frozen Orange Juice' is a single by the singer Peter Sarstedt, who was born on 10 December 1941 in New Delhi, British India. He spent his early years in India before moving to London with his family in 1954.

The single 'Frozen Orange Juice' charted in the UK, reaching a peak position of number ten in July 1969. It stayed on the UK Singles Chart for nine weeks, showcasing his brief but notable success beyond his signature hit 'Where Do You Go To (My Lovely)'.

Other singles he released are 'I Must Go On', 'England's Lane', 'Take Off Your Clothes', 'Beirut' and 'I Am a Cathedral'.
4. Visage

The song 'Fade to Grey' was recorded by the British new wave and synth-pop band Visage, who formed in London in 1978. The original lineup included Steve Strange, Rusty Egan, and Midge Ure, with later contributions from members of Ultravox and Magazine like Billy Currie, John McGeoch, and Dave Formula. They became prominent in the New Romantic movement, blending fashion-forward aesthetics with electronic music.

In the UK, 'Fade to Grey' got as high as number eight on The Official Singles Chart in early 1981 and spent 15 weeks on the chart. It was Visage's biggest hit and a defining track of the New Romantic era. Some of their other singles include 'Night Train', 'Pleasure Boys' and 'Love Glove'.
5. UB40

The song 'Red, Red Wine' (written by Neil Diamond) was a hit single from the British band UB40 (formed in 1978 in Birmingham, England). The band's name, 'UB40', comes from a UK government form used for claiming unemployment benefits-Unemployment Benefit Form 40, which reflected their working-class roots and social consciousness.

It reached number one on the Official UK Singles Chart in 1983. When it was re-released, it reached number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in 1988. Some of the band's other singles include 'Many Rivers to Cross', 'Please Don't Make Me Cry', 'Kingston Town' and 'One in Ten'.
6. Van Morrison

'Brown Eyed Girl' is a song by Van Morrison, who was born George Ivan Morrison in Belfast in 1945. The 'Van' comes from his middle name, Ivan.

It achieved number ten on The U.S. Billboard Hot 100 when it was released in 1967 and spent 16 weeks on the charts. On the UK Official Singles Downloads Chart, it made number 59 in 2013. Other singles he released are 'Gloria', 'Moondance', 'Days Like This', 'Have I Told You Lately' and 'Bright Side of the Road'.
7. Donovan

Scottish singer and songwriter Donovan, who was born Donovan Phillips Leitch, on May 10, 1946, in Maryhill, Glasgow, recorded the song 'Mellow Yellow'. He became a defining voice of the 1960s counterculture and rose to fame with a unique blend of folk, pop, psychedelia, and jazz.

Released in 1967, the single 'Mellow Yellow' reached number eight on the UK Singles Chart and number two on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. Other singles of his include 'Catch the Wind', 'Hurdy Gurdy Man', and 'Sunshine Superman'. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012 and the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2014.
8. Creedence Clearwater Revival

'Green River' is a single by the American band Creedence Clearwater Revival, who officially formed in El Cerrito, California, in 1967. The members - John Fogerty, Tom Fogerty, Stu Cook, and Doug Clifford - had been playing together since 1959, originally under names like The Blue Velvets and later The Golliwogs.

On the UK Singles Chart, it reached number 19. It entered the chart on November 15, 1969, and remained there for 11 weeks. On the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, it was a major success, peaking at number two.

Other hits by the band include 'Travelin' Band / Who'll Stop the Rain', 'Long As I Can See the Light', and 'Have You Ever Seen the Rain?'
9. Bobby Vinton

'Blue Velvet' was a song which was recorded by Bobby Vinton (born Stanley Robert Vinton on April 16, 1935, in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania). He was an American pop singer and actor known as 'The Polish Prince' for his tribute to his heritage through music.

It made number one on The U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in 1963 and stayed there for two weeks. In 1990, it rose to number two on the UK Singles Chart, due to its being used in David Lynch's film, also called 'Blue Velvet'.

Among his other singles are 'Rain Rain Go Away', 'My Elusive Dreams', 'Sealed With a Kiss' and 'Take Good Care of My Baby'.
10. Psychedelic Furs

'Pretty in Pink' is a song by The Psychedelic Furs, who were formed in London in 1977 by brothers Richard and Tim Butler. They are a cornerstone of British post-punk and new wave, known for their moody atmospherics and poetic lyrics. The band carved out a distinctive sound that blended punk energy with art-rock sophistication.

The single had two chart runs, one for the original 1981 release and another for the 1986 re-recording tied to the John Hughes film. The 1981 version reached number 43 on the UK Singles Chart and the 1996 version made number 18 on the same chart. It also reached number 41 on The U.S. Billboard Hot 100. Other singles of theirs include 'All That Money Wants', 'Heartbreak Beat' and 'Heartbeat'.
