Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. From which Emigrate song do these lyrics come? "I'll wait but can you see what's wrong Like you I fell into the problem Had faith that everything's o.k."

Answer: Wake Up

The band consists of: Richard Kruspe (guitar/vocalist) and Olsen Involtini (rhythm guitar) from Germany, Arnaud Giroux (bass guitar/backing vocals) from France, and Henka Johanssen (drums) from Swedish. Each member has been involved with previous music acts: Richard is part of the band Rammstein; Olsen is a record producer, who has worked with German artists such as Bela B and Seeed; Arnaud is a live bassist, who has worked with French artists such as Axel Bauer and Hubert-Félix Thiéfaine; and Henka was a drummer for the Swedish band Clawfinger.
2. Fill in the blank of this Emigrate lyric: "And now we just feel like energy New York City will ____."

Answer: Never sleep

The idea for Emigrate first started around 2001, during the making of Rammstein's third album "Mutter". Rammstein almost split up due to creative differences within the group, and Richard moved to New York to get away from the stresses. Emigrate is said to represent his feminine side, while Rammstein represents his masculinity.
3. What is the next line from the Emigrate song "Let Me Break"? "I would try for you Try to walk you through I would fight for you..."

Answer: To prove that I am true.

The band is based in New York; Richard moved there in 2001 after marrying South African American model Caron Bernstein. Around this time, Rammstein were on the verge of a break-up and Richard formed Emigrate instead. However, Rammstein stayed together and now Richard is part of both bands. Being based in New York, Richard sings all the vocals in Emigrate in English.

"Emigrate", the album, was released in Europe in 2007, and in the US in 2008. The album featured three guest singers on backing vocals: Margaux Bossieux on various tracks, and Ruth Renner and Grace Risch on the track "You Can't Get Enough".
5. "I've searched the sea of empty eyes And severed all my family ties A mercenary feeds my soul A plastic world, no getting old." From which Emigrate song do these lyrics come?

Answer: Emigrate

There are four bonus tracks associated with the debut album: "Blood" and "Help Me" are bonus tracks on the album itself, while "I Have A Dream" and "Face Down" were released on the "Temptation" single.
6. What is the next line of this Emigrate lyric? "Light too bright It feels like burning Take me down..."

7. Which Emigrate song is this? "Our whole existence starts to change We're born with love and born with rage."

Answer: My World

"My World" was released in 2007, along with a video in which only two members of the band appear: Richard and Arnaud. Henka was replaced by Combichrist member Joe Letz on drums, and Olsen was replaced on guitar by Dirty Mary member Margaux Bossieux. It was the promo single for the album and was featured on the soundtrack to the movie "Resident Evil: Extinction" (2007).
8. In the Emigrate song "You Can't Get Enough", what are "crawling through your open pores"?

Answer: Spiders

After the release of "My World" in 2007, singles "New York City" and "Temptation" were released in 2007 and 2008, respectively. A video was shot for "New York City" but not for "Temptation", and was directed by the same director as the video for "My World".
9. Which Emigrate song do these lyrics come from? "It's only my psychosis Feeling thorns of roses Fill the void inside me so you see."

Answer: In My Tears

Cubes play a central theme in the band and its music. In an interview with Rocklouder, Richard said that he was going for a "cube sound" with the album, which was a sound smaller than that of Rammstein. Cubes are also seen in the album booklet and the band's videos. (Source: EmigrateFan website)
