1. On December 6th, 2001 in Los Angeles, I saw one of the godfathers of thrash metal. Some songs from this band include "Seven Faces" and "Perversions of Pain". What band did I see?

Answer: Slayer

Slayer was on tour promoting their new album entitled "God Hates Us All." Notable songs off that album are the aforementioned "Seven Faces" and "Disciple." The supporting acts were Chimaira and American Head Charge. "Perversions of Pain" can be found on the album "Diabolus in Musica."

Answer: Slash's Snakepit

After the harsh breakup of Guns N Roses, Slash formed Slash's Snakepit. They released two albums in less than a decade of existence. Notable songs include "Mean Bone" and "Speed Parade".

Velvet Revolver was not a band yet in 2000 and Izzy Stradlin, another former Guns N Roses guitarist, had nothing to do with Snakepit.

Formed in Texas during the 80's, Pantera became one of the most influential metal bands in history. Combined with Slayer, Pantera would be a part of one of the heaviest tours in the metal world in 2001. Sadly, we will never get to see it again. In 2004, Pantera guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott was murdered on stage.

Tommy Lee had left Motley Crue by this time in search of a solo career. Randy Castillo was recruited to fill in. He was a good drummer in his own right. Tragically, another metaler was taken from us when Randy lost his fight with cancer in 2002.

What was supposed to be the greatest show on earth, turned into a nightmare. It isn't every day that the world gets treated to Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden together. At first, when Maiden took the stage, everything was going ok it seemed. Then Bruce Dickinson started ranting about eggs being thrown at the band.

It wasn't long after that, that Maiden's power was cut off. Three times! It turned out that Ozzy's wife, Sharon, was responsible for all of this that night.
